We stopped here on a drive from Oslo to Ulsteinvik on the coast. The location is perfect to break your journey and the town is charming. The rooms were fabulous — Scandinavian chique — and the kids loved the upper loft area where they slept. The hotel staff was fantastic and were super accommodating. We arrived late and called in advance asking if we could still eat in their award winning restaurant. While we couldn’t have the standard 5 course menu, they kept aside main course and dessert for us. The meal was the best we had in the trip and the service and hospitality was outstanding!

When you take your dogs you can easily walk with them unlashed around the corner of the compound along the river. There is also a challenging climb towards the top of a small mountain where you can find moose if lucky. It is a good starting point to explore the stunning Valdresflye road and Jotunheimen area. For children there is a trampo and small playground at the compound.

Overlooking Lake Mjøsa and the River Lågen, this property is 30 minutes’ walk from Lillehammer’s pedestrian street, Storgata. Free WiFi is provided. Friend group stayed in 5 stays and I think this was their favorite one. The room was spacious, clean and with good wifi. The common area looks sooo cozy and I wished I could have time to use/chill in it. The sunset view with all the campervans was kinda fire.
