I was in the area for work in Emmen. The place was easy to find. The owners both friendly and helpful. The room exceptionally clean. A 2 star rating, deserving of a higher star rating. Good offroad secure parking in a quite calm location. Breakfast was available a little earlier than they would normally do.

Location and staff! The team went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. Before arrival, communication was excellent and due to flight delays took away our worries. The restaurant is a must do as well (make a reservation as highly popular) and the breakfast was great too. We were spoiled! Highly recommend a stay and a next time will stay a bit longer. The area has lots to offer.

Situated at a 5-minute drive from the town Meppel in the natural reserve Het Reestdal, Havixhorst Estate features a Chateauhotel and restaurant. Each suite has an individual style. The hotel is truly magnificent. Beautiful building, rooms and staff are beyond professional and accommodating. My wife and I have travelled over 80 countries and the Chateauhotel De Havixhorst is likely the best accommodation we have ever had the privilege of visiting. And the restaurant and dining was just as exceptional. Truly a place worth making a special trip for.

City Hotel de Jonge is situated in the centre of Assen's shopping district, a 30-minute drive from Groningen. There is a restaurant with a spacious terrace. Guests benefit from free WiFi. Lovely rooms beds were comfortable breakfast staff and manager so nice and helpful... The young chap at the bar at nice with the curly hair so a young gent helped me sort my WiFi and so. Pleasant.. Great breakfast the lovely ladies at reception where so helpful also in particular the lady with the golden hair very lovely person.. So helpful.. The rooms are quiet have air con.... The shower in room 325 do flood.... Suggestion maybe put in a high shower tray so the water doesn't go right up to the toilet... Spotless clean fab staff... Pricey but location is good.. Tanks for a lovely few day attending the European cycling tour of Assen from Ireland
