The Sun House has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Galle. Featuring a bar, the 5-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. We LOVED the sun house, even though we have always stayed in really nice places in Sri Lanka, this was by far the best. The location is great, you pay around 200 LKR to go to Galle Fort. The garden and the house itself is beautiful. The food was great, one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Really good value for money and super tasty. And the staff was simply amazing. There was always someone around and usually we even didn’t have to say anything- when we left the room, they would think of cleaning our room, if we lay down by the pool they would bring water. They remember all our wishes for breakfast (eg no bananas) and we never had to ask for it again. I want to particularly point out the service of Priyantha and Tharindu, they were lovely and always had a nice story to tell or a recommendation to give. Thank you so much for making our stay special

Nothing was too much trouble including getting plasters and making a diabetic breakfast for me. Rooms were stunning and we even visited the Art shop and purchased some beautiful items. A lovely touch was checking we arrived home safe after leaving Sri Lanka!

The Narigama beach offers great beach bars but is not too busy or crowded. Surfing is also highly recommended on the beatiful beach. The Galle road runs through the place so expect loud traffic and look a room a little bit away from the road.
Unawatuna has great beaches and nature, but kind of... nothing else. It'snevertheless easy to go for Galle to do shopping or to Mirissa to spot whales.
Galle old town was nice to go around. However, be aware that Galle is the most touristy destination in all Sri Lanka and you notice that. On the other side - the streets were very clean, which isn't the case in any other town in the whole country. One day or half a day is enough, as there isn't much to do.
Great beach for sunbathing and swimming! Nice little restaurants, travel agencies and shops: everything is in a walking distance. It's easy to make a daytrips to Yala National Park, to tea estates and to Galle from Unawatuna.
Especially Galle Fort area is nice and peaceful place to stay. Villa Aurora is worth its price, a gorgeous but in same time cozy place to be.
Paremmat rannat samaan hintaan löytyvät Unawatunasta, Mirissasta ja Tangalleesta. Mama's Coral restaurant oli todella hieno ravintola auringonlaskun aikaan.
Ahangama is a nice small town between Matara and Galle. I was there 10-13.4. and it was offseason, so the beach wasnt too crowded. On the other hand, because of offseason, in some restaurants there wasnt everything available from the menu. Very nice clean beach!
