I didn't visit any place as I was taking my son to school and just went back straight home.though kisumu has got many historical places to visit generally no doubt about that.
A vey vibrant city with lots of daytime and evening activity . Would recommend a cruise boat trip at Kiboko Bay for 1hr ( sets you back £80).There are beautiful local spots to eat fresh fish made while you wait form the catch of the day. Also enjoyed evening at Acacia hotel and Impala Par. If you are interested in the local history of the Luo community who live in Kisumu then a visit to Kisumu Museum is a must. Also don't miss the local transport experience of motorbikes and matatus. A trip to town form the hotel will cost you about £0.45 Lovey City and lots of sunshine
I especially liked the lack of traffic and madness that is Nairobi. If I want peace on the roads, I will go back to Kisumu.
Kisumu is a relatively easy town to move along with friendly people. Plenty of relaxation places within easy reach of each other. Lots of fresh fish too!
Kisumu City is a great place to walk around, visit the markets, go to the local Masai Market (that has better prices than in Nairobi), visit Victoria Lake and so on. It is laid back enough to just relax and go slowly...
Acacia Hotel was very nice. The Impala Sanctuary and Kiboko Bay Resort are a must when in Kisumu. People are very friendly.
Kisumu is a very organized town with very little traffic clean and a wonderful night life. Be sure to try out the area known as "Nairobi West" we had some amazing stew chicken there that we will be flying back just to enjoy it and the ambiance was also very nice.
Kisumu is a city on the shores of Lake Victoria. During our visit in December 2016 it was hot. There are lots of attractions to visit eg Impala, Hippo point, Kisumu Museum and close to kitmikayi (Crying stone). Our stay was fabulous!
Kisumu is run down and ugly. Some roads are a mess! Traffic is terrible on the side of Kondele. Wigot resort is one of the most beautiful places to visit while in kisumu. For food, definitely Lwangni beach!
Good climate... Very quick restaurant service. Fish and more fish. Very delicious. Getting around Kisumu is also quite easy

My stay at prime Nomads was wonderful. It’s located on a peaceful area. It was a tranquil time for me and my partner to rest and break away from our busy schedules. The check in was pretty much quick as everything was already prepared before our arrival. Charles took us through everything in the apartment and ensured we had everything needed. The staff members were also very kind and helpful. The morning breakfast came in In in a timely manner. I will surely be staying here whenever I will be in kisumu.
Annodas is an outstanding place to reside while in Kisumu, with a friendly budget. It is not your typical hotel set up. The facility is quiet, and located in the beautiful and quiet, Milimani area, not so far from the city centre. Good for cycling or casual walks. Antonette welcomed me and was super helpful throughout my stay. Shines; -Safe and Quiet -Functioning Wifi -Friendly Staff (met one only) -Big and clean rooms/toilets -Fair pricing.

very quiet hotel outside of Kisumu, near Crocodiles which you can observe from the room. breakfast in the morning in front of the room. room are spacious and bed is huge with mosquito net. hot water and staff very kind, available and helpful. very good price for the quality of the place ! it is a bit far from the city center but the neighborhood is really nice, in the nature near some small villages and a big market.
Set in a quiet rural location 20 min from Kisumu the Ciala provides a safe tranqil oasis. The rooms are located amongst well tended gardens and where spacious and clean. The staff were both happy and effecient. There is a bar eating area by the pool , play equipement for kids as well as a more formal resturant and funtion rooms . Certainly the best place I have stayed at in Kenya in the last 10 years.
Food was brilliant. Not really a restaurant but food it's cooked for all guests. Tilapia was our meal and it was great. The host Nester (spelling?) was great fun and very helpful with our onward journey so I'd like to thank him. Loved the room, great views of Kisumu and lake Victoria.
I love everything about the apartment , same as posted .its very easy to access ,security top notch and above all Florence the host is so wonderful always spot on time for any enquiry. I will recommend cassabella Apartment for anyone visiting kisumu .I really enjoyed my stay.
Friendly staff. clean and comfortable room. It was nice there. We will book again if we are in Kisumu. The fee for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel is expensive but very safe and everybody should do if you are first time in Kenya.
Very charmful hotel with tasteful decor, like an oasis in the middle of Kisumu. Very quiet area, excellent breakfast and food, beautiful pool area with plants from a fairyland. The staff is very nice.
