They give their best to make you feel at home. The BBQ option that can be booked at little Mermaid was a great experience with a lot of fresh vegetables and tasty meat. Even noodles and sauce to make yakisoba are provided. The pet rabbits and howl were the highlight for our kids. They visited the lovely animals every day and the staff takes good care of their pet friends. The room was big, clean and had everything needed. The last evening we stayed the hotel manager even provided some fireworks for our kids, so kind and nice. We had a wonderful experience and will go back to this hotel. Again a big thank you to the little mermaid staff (ありがとうございました. 楽しかった。戻ってきたい )

Cottage SOUL MATE is located in Ishigaki Island, within 1.3 miles of Shanishani Beach and 4.5 miles of Yaeyama Museum. It was exactly what we needed. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, loved the catologue of products we could choose from at the check-in. The themed bar and restaurant was so lovely, the food and drinks were great as was the sunset view. The cottage was incredibly comfortable and clean, the glass roof above the beds was absolutely amazing - falling asleep watching the stars in complete comfort is an experience we're never going to forget. The host was also incredibly kind to take us to the airport at 6am in the morning which was a massive help for us.

I stayed five nights and I booked even though I was hesitant about the location out of city center. But it turned out not to matter, it's a 4-minute walk to the bus stop and the buses between the airport and downtown are half-hourly and run on an accurate schedule so you know exactly (give or take two minutes) when the bus will arrive. The rooms are spotless, one of those I-could-eat-off-the-floor places. The A/C worked great, the bed was comfy, the shower was excellent, breakfast was included, it was so wonderfully quiet, the staff is super friendly, it really was the perfect choice. All those positives and then there's the hammock om the balcony, what a place to hang with a cup of coffee for the sunrise. There aren't many places to eat nearby but a 20-minute walk would get you to the big supermarket MaxValu and there are several options there. There's also a Family Mart that's a 10-minute walk.

The apartment is roomy and very comfortable and has a big balcony with a breathtaking view, over the garden and bay and also the nights sky. It is great to have a couch in the living room to relax and the bathroom is big with a nice shower. The owner is very kind and helpful and knows just enough English to be able to arrange everything you need. There is free snorkeling gear, which we used for Ida beach, and we also did a snorkeling tour with the owner which was great. We got a private tour to some very nice snorkel spots with no other people/boats around. Saw a lot of sea turtles too! The location is great, as said with a gorgeous view. Having a car is recommended though as this makes getting around on Iriomote much easier. Cant recommend this place enough!

Ishigaki Island
It was a great place to stay in Ishigaki and use as a hub to hop to different Yaeyama islands for day trips. Also, near the bus station, so was convenient. It was close to Family mart, JA Farmers market and other restaurants nearby. The hostel was kept clean, and the rooms are comfortable with A/C. The people we met in the hostel were friendly and nice, we got to chat with everyone in the evenings in the dining area and on the roof.
Look no more if you need a hotel in central Ishigaki City. Cucule is across the street from the bus terminal, minutes away from the ferries to all the Yaeyama Islands and walking distance from all the shops and restaurants downtown. The breakfast is great and the hotel is super clean.
Amazing! very helpful staff, very friendly. very spacious rooms! i booked a wrong room and they tried to help me as best they could. Breakfast was amazing and we loved the pool. went diving near the area and saw manta rays!

The location is perfect, the rooms in the new building that we had was gorgeous and big and beautiful, super clean and with a great view also.
It's a big area full of nice places. Amazing room. Friendly stuff. I think it's mainly oriented towards the needs of Japanese visitors but other guests are also welcomed.
The staff of the hotel were really helpful. The view was gorgeous and the location is the best. The tours that the hotel offers for snorkeling are fun and my husband and I saw stingrays!! Is worth it!

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Cheaper than other hotels in the same area but with a balcony over looking the harbour. Great size room even for western standards.
Good facilities in the room, great shower, plenty of choice for breakfast, mostly Asian but with enough options for a Western palate, happy hour drinks!
