Featuring 3-star accommodations, Beppu Hatto Onyado Nono Beppu is located in Beppu, 13 miles from Oita Bank Dome and a 6-minute walk from Beppu Station. Comfortable but with very tiny rooms. Unusual experience {which we liked} for a big hotel is that you must not wear shoes at any place in the hotel. All floors are carpeted with tatami mats, which are beautiful, but since this hotel caters a lot to tour groups, the front doors become jammed when a bus comes in and people must remove their shoes. Tour groups also bottleneck at the elevators and restaurant. Breakfasts looked great, but we wouldn't go when tours were lined up. Excellent coffee always available. Outdoor onsen was tiny (maybe 3 meters by 3 meters). Indoor onsen was large enough, but not hot enough. Great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Fantastic English-speaking staff. Dormy's HR Dept know their stuff. We'd stay again, despite the small rooms and small onsen. Visit the very old downtown onsen, Takegawara, , a must, and the seafront walk, Good bakery (Mermaid) at the train station. Liveely downtown area.

Located in Yufu, 29 miles from Oita Bank Dome, Yufuin Monday 湯布院マンデー has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. This is THE best place in Yufuin. It was really easy to check in. Yes it's a bit further away from the city centre which makes it a bit more difficult to get to if you don't have a car (you can walk it or take a taxi up there) but it has the most epic view of the mountain. There are two onsens that everyone at the hotel can use, but they are effectively private as once you are in them you lock the door and you can have them to yourselves. The water is fantastic. Refreshing and makes you feel very relaxed. I would stay here at the drop of a hat again. Also make sure you walk up to Oogosha shrine (only 5 mins away) where you can get the experience of visiting a HUGE cedar tree temple and a bamboo forest that is 10x better than Arashiyama.

Well set in the Yufuin Onsen district of Yufu, 湯布院 おやど花の湯yufuin oyado hananoyu is located 29 miles from Oita Bank Dome, 1.7 miles from Kinrinko Lake and 20 miles from Beppu Station. It was spacious, clean, well-equipped, comfortable and excellent value for money. The owner was very welcoming, hospitable and kind. It was great to have our own onsen which looked out to the unit's small Japanese garden. We slept on the futon section of the property and we had a good night's sleep. There was an option to sleep on a double bed in the other section of the property. We had a rental car and we had no problem getting to the property by typing in the phone number into the navigation system. We had a small car and the parking space was ok. We enjoyed our lovely stay there and would have loved to stay longer!

It was her day off from work and having her dinner. She got up from her seat and patiently took time to help us pick food and drinks from the Japanese menu! Big space for 4 adults. Having 2 toilets is a plus! Even though we can hear some loud noises late night on the street, we still had good sleep because of the comfortable sheets and mattresses.

The breakfast seemed pretty authentic Japanese and was in a really nice restaurant area of the building. The staff in the restaurant and reception were very nice to us though we can only say simple Japanese words. The hotel has a handy convenience store downstairs and is pretty close to Oita main train station. There are also department stores very close by and many areas to shop.
The last day, I made a mistake for the resavation to the hotel. I left my luggage in my room and went to work. When I returned to the hotel, I could not enter the room and understood the situation, but the hotel staff smiled and held the room for me and gave me the left luggage. Thanks to the hotel staff, my trip to Oita was a pleasant memory. Thank you very much!
Only about a 15 minute walk from Oita station and downtown, this was a good little hotel. The room was small but good enough for one person and very comfortable. The staff on check-in were really friendly and helpful. The hotel also had an associated onsen down the road, however I wasn't able to make use of this during my stay.
Beppu
Really nice, modern hotel right near Beppu station which made it easy to get to Oita airport the next morning. The Classic Triple Room was very luxurious with a sitting area on a tatami mat as well as a couch. Has laundry facilities which was a bonus for us. Unfortunately we didn't visit the onsen as it was too crowded.
It is right next to Oita station making it easy to use the rail system. This was our 3rd stay here and one of the “plus” features is the complimentary use of the onsen bath at the 19th floor for its hotel guest. The hotel’s reception staff are very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful.
Excellent little hotel right in the middle of Oita, just a 3 minute walk from the Shotengai (covered shopping street). The room was a standard size for a Japanese hotel. Very comfortable and lots of small amenities and details were taken care of (as is the norm in Japanese hotels).
Located near the shopping street in Oita and walking distance to Amu plaza mall. Room was clean. We had amazing views of the township, Beppu and mountains close by. Breakfast spread was excellent with local and continental delights!
Very nice little apartment, easy walk from Beppu JR station. Has everything you need for a solo travel. Landlord is very friendly, fast reply on email. Overall a good place to stay if you want to tour around Oita county.

Spacious apartment on a smart, pedestrianised street in the centre of Oita (so-called 5th Avenue). Nice to have space after cramped business hotels.
The location is perfect. It's just a stone throw away from the Oita station. The breakfast is also great.
The room size is ok if compare to standard room in Japan. Bathroom is also big. Not far from Oita station.

It natural, so there are always some interesting small friends will be part of the house, but the staff are really nice to take care of it right away, so no need to worry from that. The food is amazing, traditional food , so it wait for a while for all the process, and breakfast are also hard working and good enough amount. Love it ! Full energy for the new day coming
Beautifully located a bit outside of Beppu. It is far, so remember to book dinner at the hotel in advance. You can reach the Beppu roapway quite easily by local bus though (suica card works btw). The dinner (wagyu meal set) and breakfast were excellent and the chef very accommodating as my friend is a pescetarian and does not eat meat, so he prepared a dinner and breakfast with no meat just for her. The rooms are very nice, spacious and clean with a great view over Beppu and the bay. We slept very well on the tatami style mattress and the open air bathroom with access to the hot springs water was so relaxing and nice. 100% recommend!
It’s beautiful. They have like 4 onsen and rooms with private onsen and you can also book a private onsen. Very nice for couples as the regular onsen are women or men only. We had the room wit private onsen and it was worth every penny. The room looked out on the waterfall and a nice Japanese garden. The surroundings are beautiful. You hear and see the waterfall, everything is like a Japanese fairytale. The employees are the kindest. And the food is probably the best Japanese food we had. The total experience was so luxurious and perfect. We loved it!
