Inside, the rooms surprising fit the comfort of a standard business hotel. The convenient location and free parking were a plus for this stay and experience. The hotel also offers free bento-meal which can be taken from the reception counter and heated using the microwave in the room. They have a massage chair which can be used freely in the room which enhanced our overall relaxation and comfort.

The food was excellent and the evening kaiseki menu was very carefully put together to present a variety of textures and flavours with ingredients sourced from the fields, mountains, and ocean of Ibaraki. They ryokan prepares their own food and drink. In the 10+ years that I've traveled around Japan, their aka shiso umeshu is the best I've ever tasted. The view from the rooms is spectacular. The lounge and onsen facilities are also in very good shape.
This hotel is very conveniently situated for us that need to be able to reach different places in Tochigi and Ibaraki as well as Tokyo when we are visiting. The trains run frequently and there are several places to find great food around the station and deeper in the city. The hotel is clean and quiet, the staff was lovely and always accommodating and usage of the washer/dryer was a welcome additional perk. We did not have the breakfast but it smelled nice.
This location is great for us since its central in Ibaraki near our customers. Friendly staff, free parking in front of the hotel, quiet neighborhood and very convenient restaurant next door.

Japanese style breakfast was good value for money. I like to fill up on vegetables for the day before I head out. Coffee, milk, orange juice, yoghurt , bread , butter and jam, sausages and eggs were the only western options. Laundry machines, microwave ovens, vending machines, ice making machines all available.
