Sam's Bungalows And Treks has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Bukit Lawang. The accommodation features room service, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. Sam is an attentive and friendly owner and his staff are excellent! Pipie his main guy was always there to chat and help plus he played Rummikub with us at night! The restaurant was very good with a great selection of food with amazing value! They booked out car from Medan and gave a motorbike ride to the hotel which added to our experience! We also booked a jungle trek with Andre and Rama as our guides… they were patient and fun to hang with and the provided a wonderful lunch plus we saw six Orangutans with a mom and baby within 5ft! A definite recommend to our friends !

The employee are amazing always ready to help and the ambience is very nice and relaxing. The food is very good, the chef is amazing there. They new about my allergy to gluten and they were able to bake some bread for me and also made gluten free pancakes...love it. They also organized my transfers and my 2 days trekking in the jungle and we had a fantastic time, Ichan ( I may spell it wrong) and his friend were great...we saw many monkeys and birds we also see a walking Orangutan .

They organize trips through the jungle with stays in the jungle. the guides grew up in the jungle and share their knowledge Their english is well and they even organize karaoke evenings or play games with you in the jungle (card tricks etc). It was so much fun, I learnt a lot and I saw the Orang Utans in wild life, also many other monkey. Their lodge is placed at a hill over the river. The bungalows are simple, with a very comfortable bed. I will defetly go back.

The chalet ıs located at an end, nestled besıde the raınforest. The monkıes joıned us for breakfast and you can hearthem jumıng on the roof from early mornıng. Our hostess, Tıa, was so hospıtable and frıendly. She had the most gorgeous lıttle kıttens who were so playful. Tıa organısed our guıde to come down and speak to us the nıght before our 1 day trek, so we had lots of ınfo ahead of tıme. ı absolutely recommend stayıng here. You can open the porch double doors and vıew the rıver from the 4 poster bed. There ıs also a hammock on the porch to relax on.
