Very nice small scale hotel very close to the beach and cycling routes through Sankt Peter and surroundings. You get tickets which grant you free access to the beaches and other facilities in Sankt Peter. The room (grand family suite) was amazing: very large room with fully equipped and modern bathroom, even with seating area and fridge. We didn’t used the option to have breakfast in the hotel.

Enjoyed stunning concerts which were part of the Schleswig-Holstein Summer Festival 2016. Also a wonderful choral and orchestral concert presented by the University of Lubeck. Visited various museums and churches, parks and the beaches at Timmendorfer and Travemunde. Really enjoyed the Hanseatic Museum, Gunter Grasse House and the intriguing streets and houses of the old city. Very restful and easy to walk to and from the most interesting tourist spots. Great!
Schleswig is a beautiful town with lots to see and do. Near the cathedral there are some lovely lanes to walk around and you can look at the neatly kept graveyard, stop at the Holm Cafe for a drink or pop into a very small museum nearby. The architecture is very interesting, typically German and although some of the buildings are quite old they don't look it. You have to try the local fish specialities of which there are many. The Schlei is very pretty with the sun playing across the surface of the water, it is a famous beauty spot. Many people canoe or sail and it is pleasant to people watch whilst drinking coffee and eating cake (kaffee mit kuchen) - a favourite pastime of my Great-Aunt who lives here! The Schloss is very pretty and historically significant, they have an audio guide available in English. There are some good restaurants in the area (in the habour, in the Viking Turm and local hotels) and if you need to buy something specific, the town is big enough to cater for your shopping needs. I would recommend this for any type of traveller, it is a very relaxed and laid back town with friendly people and plenty of things to do without being overwhelmed. The surrounding area of Schleswig-Holstein is very pretty too and another notable town to visit is Kiel. You can also visit the North Sea and the Baltic Sea resorts, very charming.
Nice small city next to many lakes with plenty of nice restaurants and pubs. Good place to spend some days and good good base for exploring the Schleswig-Holstein.
Visit one of the largest annual exhibition of contemporary art in Europe, the NordArt, showcasing artists from 50 countries in Büdelsdorf or attend Christoph Eschenbach's rehearsals with the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival at the ACO- Thormann-Halle.
