The hotel is situated very well within the city. The staff was super nice! Room was spacious, bed comfy and there was everything I needed. The wifi was also wery strong. Breakfast was delicious.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Casa Djarmai Boutique Apartments is a recently renovated apartment situated in Vila do Maio, 400 metres from Biche Rocha Beach. Strong wifi (my husband used whatsapp calls for work everyday during our 1 week stay without any problem!), excellent air condition, coffee maker, hot water, really clean and beautifully decorated rooms and a blooming garden. All these things in Africa, just wow! 👍 Not to mention free upgrade to 2 bedroom apartment, free transport from the pier and to the airport and a late check-out... We are traveling 2-3 months a year with a child (3 years old right now) and my husband needs to work a couple of hours every day while on the road. This place met all our specific needs, thank you Nanda and Pompeo!

as mentioned there aren't many things to do in Maio. it's a place to relax enjoying the simple things. you do not have many restaurants, you have 2 bars in the main beach (the others arount the island do not have any facilities) you will find small grocery stores and the market (fresh vegetables only when the boat cames). you can visit the salinas, church, and rent a car to go around (about 2h to see the island). we used to eat in a small traditional place next to the church (Natalia), the food is really good cooked or in the beach bars (Tropikal is more "european" you can order a pizza and the other one more traditional with cape verdian food) you have the hotel restaurant (mainly italian food at least was what we saw when passing by) or tutti frutti (italian restaurant) for breakfast we went to jardim do maio every day.
The hotel is well located, the staff is super nice, the breakfast is good and the rooms are super clean. It was super good holidays and we had a problem to buy the ferry tickets but the receptionist bought it for us, sent them by mail. Without him we couldn't come to Maio and would have a lost the hotel so you can trust them and just relax during your stay. They also have a restaurant and the food is good. The view from the rooftop is amazing and the neighborhood is quiet so it's relaxing.

We had an incredible one-week stay. The property is located in the "Stella Maris" condominium, which from my experience having visited Maio multiple times is probably the best of its kind on the island. The apartment was well-equipped, with a comfortable bed and all the essentials. The condo itself features a fantastic pool with stunning ocean views, which was the highlight for us. The price was fair, and the host Odair was communicative, quickly addressing any minor issues that arose.
Morro
This might be by far the coziest place you can stay at for a trip to Maio. The apartments are big and comfortable and Mona is one of the friendliest hosts I've ever experienced. Her cooking is extraordinary and the jam she makes for breakfast is delicious. The apartment is located 150m away from one of the nicest and loneliest beaches I have seen in my life. You will have the ocean for yourself... At least until others will find out about the beauty of Maio ;)

We had a pleasant stay at Casa Evora. We stayed in the room Solange which is situated right next to the main « road » of Maio, and quite exposed to the street (expect noises if you stay there). The room is ok, but nothing comparable to a Boutique Hotel room. The hotel is conveniently situated, in front of the main road and next to the beach.
We booked 2 nights, could stay 5 days in the hotel, we liked it very much. The owner family were very friendly, helpful. We enjoyed the good breakfast, everywhere was very clean, nice facility. Near the beach and restaurants around. Very beautiful, quait, small island Maio with long beaches, nice people around. We recommend a lot.
