metro routes are easily understandable, very easy and cheap. the best way to go anywhere in shanghai without traffic. but since we're moslem, it's kinda hard to find halal restaurant there (everywhere in china, i guess). I really want to ride the city sightseeing bus to go around shanghai, but unfortunately we have no time. buy souvenirs at Yuyuan garden, but don't forget to bargain and find the cheapest shop ! have fun !
shanghai is metropolitan city. better to you to try local snacks street, food, drink in nanjing road. xintiandi is not really good, just a lot of cafes. if you want to buy clothes, go to hongkong street, people's square metro station. oriental pearl tower is very cool! try to walk on the glasess floor, only 160rmb
It's not easy to travel in Shanghai. Make sure you have someone who can speak mandarin, if not then you will have so much trouble. Most of them cant speak english, so prepare first before go there. MRT was great and easy to use. Taxi was expensive. China's street food is the best :)
Shanghai is a vibrant city, lights shine everywhere and better looking from heights. Spare time for traffic jam that may occur sometime unpredictable. Knowing your destination and make use of various available transportation mode, is your tools to roaming around the city. You need at least a week to total experience of Shanghai.

first time i came to shanghai was so lovely place for vacation,i love the bund, yuan garden .pearl towers and surround there . only the bad thing is no taxi driver can speak english and mostly peoples are seldom speak english. 20 x i try stop taxi and they dont wanna take me to my destination. but these part of the journey and i love it being in shanghai.
shanghai offers you many things. Shanghai Disneyland is great and clean. You have to go up to the observatory deck of shanghai tower, its worth to pay. go to Tian Zi Fang to find unique stuff and yummy food too! Nanjing road is simply the best pedestrian walk with many stores and restaurant. much better than Wangfujing in Beijing.
