We had a great stay at Hotel Ohana. Room is spacious with all amenities. Staff is very attentive and friendly. We feel very welcoming at the hotel. Stayed during Christmas and we even received little Christmas present from the hotel, very sweet. Both Pablo speak very good English so it’s very easy to communicate with them and get information. Breakfast has lots of varieties and has different products everyday, including fresh juice and freshly made omelette or eggs. Had lunch at the hotel as well, extremely good food. A bit far from the Main Street so it’s very nice and quiet in the hotel area and garden/pool.

Featuring a spa, an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Hotel Hare Uta offers accommodations in Hanga Roa. WiFi is available, connection is limited. The room was very pleasant. Super clean. Well-appointed. AC worked well. The bed and bedding were incredibly comfortable and I would wake up well-rested and ready for the day's adventures on this stunningly beautiful island. The breakfast was outstanding. Choice of pretty much everything you could want for breakfast. Alejandro made the coffees to perfection. The breakfast was so hearty that I didn't want anything for lunch. The grounds are extremely well-maintained and quite beautiful. Some of the fruit at your breakfast are courtesy of the fruit trees you will see on the grounds. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. They found out that it was my birthday and sang happy birthday for me at breakfast and gifted me with the most gorgeous necklace. Juan, at the reception area, deserves special mention for making my trip the best it could possibly be with many priceless tips about the incredible sites on the island. My trip would have been a lot less outstanding without his help. He also helped me to book a rental vehicle and organized prompt delivery of it. His English is impeccable. I highly recommend getting a rental vehicle. Driving there is uncomplicated. Waze and Google Maps don't always work - don't forget you're in one of the remotest places on Earth! But, not to worry, the people are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help you find your destination. Such lovely, kind and welcoming folks! I'm a solo female traveler, with some mobility issues. I call 2 places "home"...The Republic of Trinidad & Tobago and The United States. The standards at this hotel are, on par with, and even higher than many places in the United States and Europe that fall into a similar price range. You definitely get your money's worth here.

Easter Island/Rapa Nui is amazing!!! The experience's to be had on the island are unforgettable. There's an endless amount of sites to see and things to do. It's not just dig sites, there's a couple of gorgeous beaches, beauty packed hikes, surfing, diving and snorkeling. Not to mention the town itself that has the museum, shopping, restaurants and dance shows every night to see and explore.
Easter Island is much more than just the Moais The Town is not much ( that is part of the charm) It is like Hawaii was about 100 years ago. It is essential that you rent your own transportation ( preferably a small 4 x 4 ) Easter Island is best experienced at your own pace. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and left on a Friday afternoon. For me, I found four full days on the Island to be just right.Make sure you buy A Companion To Easter Island by James Grant Peterkin before your trip. I bought mine through Amazon. In my opinion, Tataku Vave is the best restaurant on the island. I went there on two different occasions. One night I had ceviche and the other a local fried fish, Both were excellent choices. The ocean view ambience adds much to your experience.
The only city on the Easter Island, has multiple restaurants and the food is 99% delicious, very peaceful place in general. Very inspiring to look at he sunset. There is a soccer field in the middle of the town, recommend to watch a local game, even girls are playing sometimes, great atmosphere. Hanga Roa has a Rapa Nui museum with loots of information in English, so before exploring the Island I do recommend visiting museum first for better understanding of the Island history. Restaurants: - Bar Pea: has a great views, it is so pleasant to sit out on the deck and eat ceviche or catch of the day fish. - Club Sandwich - recommend if you are on the budget : gigantic hamburgers, good empanadas. - Te Moana - great restaurant, ask for recommendations if eating there! - Also there was restaurant right across the street from the Bar Pea( cant remember the name) but please if you there try empanadas, wont regret it. Fun things to do: If you are adventures recommend going to dive on the Easter Island, we used "Mike Rapu" the guys were speaking English, and were quite entertaining and will make you experience fun! Hiking! hiking! hiking! May be go meet a sunrise on the Terevaka( highest point of the island)
R$pa Nui (Easter Island) is all about the mo'ai. You can rent a car but unless you are very well read about the history of Easter Island,a guide is good idea. The mo'ai are fascinating and seeing where they were carved and understanding how they might have been moved from the carving site to their final location has people still wondering. We ate in downtown Hanga Roa at the Haku Hona which is across the street from the harbor. The place is totally low key and unhurried. You can watch the surfers catching enormous waves or view glorious sunsets as you sip on drinks and nibble on freshly fried sopapillas. The staff is delightful and the food very good.
An indescribable experience. I have never been to a place like Easter Island, and I don't think I ever will again. The history, the culture, the nature - it is truly unbelievable. The southern circuit was gorgeous. Ranu Raraku, Anakena Beach and Ahu Tongariki are truly breathtaking. Getting around Hanga Roa is easy, as the town is small and easy to navigate by foot. If you want to do your own thing, there are plenty of car rental spots and driving the island is easy (just be careful for the free-roaming horses, chickens and dogs!). The food is also the best we'd eaten during our two week stay in Chile! I am so, so happy I went. It's a once in a lifetime experience!
Hanga Roa itself is a small town but it offers a great base for going and viewing the moai and learning about Rapa Nui culture. The moai are truly impressive and the mystery surrounding the culture that created them intriguing. Easter Island / Rapa Nui is definitely a once in a lifetime destination. The island itself is also beautiful and great to hike around. The landscape is unique with undulating grass covered hills, rain water filled craters, and a rugged shoreline with crystal clear blue water and some impressive waves. In-between the sites and excursions be sure to enjoy the local tuna ceviche and empanadas, preferably with a cold beer!
Easter Island is simply amazing, each day we had a new adventure. We hike a lot and love to explore. We did not do any water sports but they offer diving and surfing as well. We were there 5 nights which was perfect for us. You can do it quicker with tours but that is not our style. We like to do our own thing. We rented bikes (there are some hills and it's hot, took longer than we expected but really enjoyed it), we hiked, rented a car for two days, visited ALL the sites big and small. With a car rental you can be at the top of the island, go back to town if needed for a break, driving around the island is quick, safe and easy. One hike from Anakena to the highest point (Maunga Terevaka) is no longer accessible due to ranch fencing so we accessed by walking along the coast from Ahu Tahai and combined with the the caves Ana Kakenga (very cool lava tubes, flashlight on phone was enough light) and we loved we reached the highest point on the island (only 500 meters but still cool). If you go out for the day bring lots of water, only the largest spots have refreshments. It is not large but you are constantly stopping to explore so you will be out longer than expected. Lots of variety for restaurants from quick to gourmet depending on your budget. We were worried about the prices after reading but if you look around and try different things, go to the main grocery stores, pack your own lunch you can find a good balance. Club Sandwich sounds North American but it has great casual, local food at good prices (lots of locals doing take out). It is always full. The island is beautiful, the coast is stunning, lava beds, caves, wild horses, and of course the moai and volcano sites. ENJOY !!!
People who want to visit Easter Island must take into account that it is very expensive to do so. The air tickets from Chile is is not cheap because only one air line operates the route. And if you want to take the most expensive flight in the world it is the once a week five hour flight from Easter Island to Tahiti. There is talk that Air Tahiti Nui might also start to fly this route which might bring down the price of the ticket,
I went to see the moais, of course. But you can see all the iconic places, with no rush, in two days. Everything is close, you can do it even in a full day hiring a taxi (about 150 US). WIth one explanation, you have all, since most are theories and there is no written history. Unfortunately there is nothing cultural to see beyond the moais unless you go for the Tapati festival in February. When I've asked at tourist information, they've sent me to the dancing shows and the tattoo places if I wanted to know more about the culture. Those are fine but commercial businesses not cultural institutions!! Besides, the island is beautiful and enjoyable. But if you have to move by taxi, everybody charges you whatever they want. That seems to be the rule in everything in the island. The hotels are expensive for what they offer. I've paid 80 dollars for a place in Istanbul I've paid 25 !! And you can not be in anything less than 80 dollars because it would be an unhealthy place. Of course, get ready for the cockroaches!!! If you can not stand them, Easter island is not for you. Unfortunately they are even in the expensive hotels; they've invaded the island long ago. Easter island is great for surfers, divers, people connected with the sea. The island is the door to Polinesia. You can feel it. The food is expensive but not unbearable. There are some cafeterias and see shore restaurants, simply lovely. The museum is too small and does not display many objects despite saying it has over 15,000 in its collection. Hanga Roa is very very little, to do it by foot. There are some moais in the downtown area, but the 3 most important places are a bit far, you can not walk to them.
Easter Island Travel gave me the 2 day tour (A+B). Outstanding guide and learned so much about the historical and archeological importance of Easter Island (Rapa Nui). I have wanted to go see the moai for 40 years so this was truly a “bucket list” item for me. Prices are expensive as everything is imported. Restaurants were expensive but excellent fish or seafood. If coming from Santiago, you get 2 checked pieces of luggage, so bring fruit, and anything else you know you want to eat while there as the mini markets don’t have a huge choice.
i am so happy that we chose to stay here during our Easter island stay. The staff were so friendly and kind, rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, and the facilities were great. We particularly loved the hot tub! Location is close to the airport (about 15 minute walk) and pretty much in the centre of town. Breakfast was INCREDIBLE. I looked forward to it every morning. They catered for dietary requirements so well. Overall, fantastic stay and couldn’t recommend it more!
absolutely gorgeous property with stunning gardens and a lovely warm swimming pool in the Center. We were delayed by a day because we did not know about the PCR test requirement for entering Easter Island (fyi!!) and they made a huge effort to ensure we were not charged even though we were a day late arriving. The staff also helped with bookings in Spanish! they could not have been more helpful. Another thing: our hotel was five minutes from the waterfront ! great location!
The family / friendly atmosphere The warmth and valuable help of the personnel in booking the sightseeing tours and providing guidance The great cuisine and amazing breakfast The spa experience The view overlooking the ocean The selection of books on Easter Island in the rooms The nice and comfi rooms The surprise departure gift The hotel overall is a great place to relax and unwind while being immersed in nature with an elegant rapa nui touch
Everything is perfect , special thanks to Mr Alejandro Who provided us with all the necessary information and support and organized everything for us . You will feel in this Hotel as if you are at home among your family, and we thank Madame Ivvone. She was very friendly and compassionate. They are an honorable for the people of the Easter island. My greetings to them from Egypt.

It’s home far from home. Amazing owners, very helpful, kind and caring. Sonya and Francisco go above and beyond to make their guests really happy and it definitely works. Whole place is really nice with amazing garden, home made breakfast and good amenities. We were lucky to choose hostel Uruhao for our stay on beautiful Easter Island
The hotel was great, located not too far from town but close to some of the monuments. The room was comfortable, the staff was helpful, and every morning we had breakfest brought to us where we ate it on our little deck. The hotel added to the wonderful experience of Easter Island.
Hanga Roa

Nice hotel in Easter Island. Owner was very interactive.
Good location, just 10-15 mins walk to the town centre and the sea side. Room is clean, but the bathroom is bit narrow. The staff is helpful, he gave us a lot of great suggestions about our trip. Nice breakfast but do not have many options.
