I was on the top floor, and there was a short flight of stairs (4 steps) to get to the sleeping part (this might not be for people who have difficulty walking stairs). Excellent breakfast with a very wide variety of choices. Location is great, very near to the city centre. As Ghent is a very walkable city, it is really easy to get everywhere walking. During my stay it was raining a lot, and the hotel had umbrellas at disposal, which was a very nice touch.

Cleythil is located outside Maldegem, a 20-minute drive from historic Bruges and 30 minutes' drive from Ghent and the North Sea beach. The garden offers views of the Drongengoed forests and fields. Lovely staff, excellent service, beautiful location, warm and cozy atmosphere, interesting backstory of the property, good lasagne (we ate at the hotel, not the restaurant), Ingeborg went above and beyond, was fun to talk with and gave us some nice suggestions regarding activities for our next stay. My husband and I definitely enjoyed our stay.

When you're travelling alone the room is almost overwhelming but has a great appeal. Again any time.
