Located in Mautern on the southern bank of the Danube, only 2 km from Krems, the Nikolaihof offers very spacious, classically equipped rooms with panoramic views over the Wachau Valley. The location was ideal for our activity, cycling the River Danube between Passau and Vienna stopping at small hotels en route. We hadn’t realised the hotel owner had embraced an ethos around bio sustainability, local produce and services but were pleased to have the experience of our stay. The buffet breakfast was one of the best on our trip and consisted very good quality produce. The hotel owner recommended a local restaurant, making no secret of the fact it was part of the vineyard operation owned and run by her family and it too was a truly excellent experience. The owner and staff were a delight to deal with.

The small, family-run Donauhof is located close to the Danube River in the wine-growing village of Weißenkirchen, in the heart of the Wachau Region, the UNESCO world heritage. Very nice cozy hotel, kind owner, excelent breakfast and very nice view of the Danube river. Confortable spacious rooms, parking available. I highly recomend this hotel. A few minutes form Durnstein, small beautiful town.

Built in 1574 as a shipmaster’s house, Renaissancehotel Raffelsberger Hof B&B is a protected building in the historic village centre of Weißenkirchen in the Wachau. So lovely hotel, the architecture of the building itself is very interesting and extraordinary. The interior is beautiful and cozy. The room was not very big but for a solo traveller it was a perfect size with all the facilities. The breakfast was nicely served. The staff was very friendly and caring. Definitely value for money. And I would love to stay for longer and obviously I would stay in this splendid place.
