Very nice, quiet, traditional village from Tyrol. We had a chance to eat the local cuisine in a very nice restaurant at an affordable price. Good supermarkets and ski rental facilities. The ski domain is very large, suitable for everyone (from beginners to performers). The ski cabin is placed in the centre of the village, easy reachable by car, green ski bus or even by foot. Perhaps a small downside, in case of heavy snow you might risk being temporary locked on the adjacent steep and narrow access roads. Also, in you case you rely on public transport for your holiday it might be a bit complicated as the train stops in the valley.
Beautiful scenery. Lovely food. Clean fresh air. Very compact resort, great to walk around. If you like shopping take the train to either Innsbruck or back to Munich. Do many wonderful restaurants, try walking out to Triendlsege and having lunch. Absolutely delightful with many traditional Tyrolean specialities.
Cozy city with lots of monuments and places to visit. The bell museum & foundry is interesting and, for typical music and dance there's a Tyrolean show (Tiroler Abend Family Gundolf) with folk songs, intruments and yodeling. For Swarovski Crystal World in Wattens, nice options for kids to play.
The Stubai Glacier is an awesome ski resort. I'm an inexperienced middle-aged skier, and could have easily been intimidated by the highest peak in the South Tyrol, but this place is phenomenally picturesque and has slopes for every skill level - i loved it! An immensly popular ski area, yet the huge gondolas and efficient lifts handled the crowds with ease - you were always moving. Spent 2 days skiing here. Stubai Gletscher is on the Olympiaworld pass. (Feb, 2017)
My daughter and i want to move here! She loves outdoor adventure and i love history. Such a homey feel to the city. Great shoping but not too much. Not many tourists either. Austrians in their Tyrolian garb seen everywhere😀 Check put the alpine zoo if you're an animal lover or have kids. Get rolls and cold cuts and Red Bull for a picnic in the Hof Garden. Indoor farmers market everyday...check it out. If uou only have a day get a locker st the train station and walk around. Buy the 24 hour Innsbruck card.
We spent only 4 days in Hinterux, mainly around hotel. Nature, mountains, scenery, hiking, skiing - that is all great. Summer in Tyrolean Alps is a new experience for me and will for sure come here again and for a longer period.
Best Time to visit starting mid of May till Mid of June to enjoy the weather, place and all area around before hot summer and before the Holidays period Sunny days will be the best One of the best spots I've ever been to "TYROL"
Downtown is so walkable and a great public transportation system. Beautiful mountains all around. The Socher cafe is genuine from the Hotel Socher in Vienna without the lineup to get in. Of course the best Socher Torte. The historical museum at the ski jump has a wonderful mural of an historical battle between the Tyroleans and Bavarians. Get the English headphones for the explanation for f the scene depicted before you in 360 degrees.
A typical small Tyrolean town without all the touristy flash. Close to the castles of Germany and an awesome ruin 10 minutes outside of town. Go to sleep to cow bells and wake up to church bells.
Neustift im Stubaital
Toni himself was there to greet us on arrival and showed us around the home. The entry itself is managed by code and no need of any key exchange/lock box. The property is well maintained and upgraded, has beautiful views of the valley, meadows and is walking distance from the restaurants/pubs of the town. We had a change in number of guests due to a family emergency and Toni still accommodated us. What is also included in the price was passes to the Stubaier Glacier/Top of Tyrol lifts for all guests that came as a surprise to us.
Everything was fantastic. The other and the staff were friendly and attentive to details. The room had enough space; it had a very comfy bed. We received a complimentary small set of local products (from Tyrolean shale oil). Apart from buffet for breakfast, there was a a variety of eggs you could order (sunny side up, scrambled, etc). The sauna was very well made and had a nice atmosphere. The hotel has a private parking, where we left the car for our entire stay. We got a local guest card, which can be used as a fare in local buses
Mayrhofen
Pleasant and comfortable 2-bedroom apartment, fully equipped, in traditional Tyrolian style and hospitality. Nice balcony with view, quiet environment, but only 5 minutes walk to Mayrhofen mainstreet and cable car. Free tickets to the village in- & outdoor swimming pool & sauna were included. Morning bread-rolls service was very convenient, plenty parking space. We arrived quite early and were very pleased to be allowed in the apartment (after early morning flight and short night sleep, great!). Our stay was very enjoyable!
I booked a single room, and it appeared to be renovated. Room size was fine and, despite facing the street, it was quiet. I liked that the room didn't have carpet! The bed was comfortable, the TV had some English stations, the shower was excellent. Parking was easy just behind the hotel. Breakfast was outstanding with bacon and scrambled eggs included. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! Traveled up from the South Tyrol. Don't buy petrol there, as it's way more expensive than in Austria or Germany!
Fliess
A Comfortable room for a family of 5. The place has 2 apartments, one at the ground floor and one at the upper floor. We stayed at the upper floor and it has a nice view from the balcony. There's one room for the parents and one room for up to 3 children. Well equipped kitchen and bathroom. The location was good for us, traveling at the west side of Tyrol in the summer. About 6 minutes drive up the hill from the main road. The village is quite. There's a super market near the zimmer.
The rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious, with top-notch renovation quality. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel features a sauna (note: it is mixed-gender and nudity is required), a decent breakfast, and a ski equipment storage room. The atmosphere was very cozy, capturing the true spirit of Tyrol. The views of the mountains were stunning, and there’s a nearby forest for hiking if you’re not skiing or snowboarding.
We booked a superior room which was very specious with an excellent view of mountains. The hotel had very good food, breakfast buffet with other options to order (incl in price) and also very good dinner selection (buffet +4 course menu). Good location with access to famous spots (top of tyrol), etc... Hotel offers also a pass for some cable cars and water park which is very useful and makes the stay even more enjoyable.
Jerzens
This apartament has amazing views on the valley. It's located in the quiet Tyrolian village in a Pitztal valley, short walk from the shop and bus stop. It has two spacious bedrooms, two shower rooms and well equipped kitchen with dining area. There is also an outside sitting area so you can admire the stunning view. The apartment had everything we needed - with a reasonable price. We will definitely come back there.
Extraordinary little hidden gem! Short drive to Neuschwanstein castle. Quintaessencial Tyrol experience. Jaw dropping views from the balcony. Immaculately cleaned and well maintained. Elevator, and free onsite parking. Full spa experience at the basement level: jacuzzi, infrared, steam room, sauna, wow! The level of hospitality here, as well as in its sister property Alpenhotel Ernberg is UNPARALLEL! 5-stars!! ✨✨✨✨✨
Sölden
We spent 5 nights at Pension Charly located in Solden, Austria. Solden is centrally located in the Oetztal Valley and convenient to many places we visited. The Pension is located on the edge of town providing a peaceful setting. The host provided a real Tyrolean experience, including a fabulous breakfast. We enjoyed a room on the top floor with a balcony where we relaxed after our daily outings.
I believe it is my 8th time at the Tyrolerhof and it has an amazing dining room and restaurant. There's a huge variety of foods (both dinner and breakfast), it's a nice mix of a buffet and selection of main course (unlike many half board hotels where you need to decide on your main course at breakfast, here you can choose it at the buffet and see the serving before you make the choice).
Hotel is very nice, like what you imagine when thinking about Tyrollean style, quite and great located right near the bus stop. The hostess is great! Very helpful. Breakfast is good European-style, but you can choose a drink from a wide variety of them! We booked a room for 4 person and it was really big and clean on the top floor. Swimming pool is not very big, children loved it.
Seefeld in Tirol
Everything! Location perfect for walking into Seefeld, plus just a few minutes’ walk from Seefelder Jochbahn at Rosshutte. The apartment was decorated in a traditional style, with all modern facilities, comfortable bed and an excellent shower. Julia gave us a very warm welcome and was a friendly, attentive hostess in her lovely Tyrolean family’s home. What more could you ask for?
Seefeld in Tirol
Beautiful apartment- very comfortable with a home-from-home experience. Lovely views from the large balcony; well-equipped kitchen; gorgeous interior. We were made to feel very welcome. Seefeld is a lovely mountain village with a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. It is well located for visiting The Tyrol with a number of good hikes starting in the town itself.
Perfectly positioned in the village, just 5 minutes walk from the railway station. This is a real old fashioned family run Tyrolean hotel - perfect. Excellent facilities, lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere and a marvellous comfortable room. A heated outdoor swimming pool was a bonus - we were swimming as the sun came over the mountains in the morning. Fabulous
Stayed here in January this year and liked it so much and decided to stay again not to be disappointed 1st class hotel excellent breakfast very comfortable room Wi-Fi internet connection very good, Free bus service to Innsbruck with the Welcome Card available with a two night stay or more A very friendly family run hotel, nice part of the Austrian Tyrol.
Fulpmes
Very good location. Hotel in a traditional Tyrolean style with a very friendly staff. Very clean room with balcony and wonderful view of Schlick 2000 and the Stubai glacier. Excellent breakfasts, a very good restaurant on site with local à la carte dishes. You need to book a table the day before because a lot of people come here from outside.
Very nice hotel in the Tyrol area. It's stark clean. The staff is extremely helpful. The bed was the most comfortable one I had in Austria. The balcony was very spacious and I loved seating there. Pool and Sauna were wonderful, we should've spent more time there. The breakfast was way beyond what we expected and tasted wonderful.
Oetz
Great Residence and wonderful location Amazing staff, kindness and very carefree about everything including washing our clothes from hiking 🥾 Wonderful apartment and also you get the Family summer card for free (includes). There is the Oetz info center 25 meters from our apartment 🏞️ Best place to be in Tyrol and also great restaurant.
Typical Tyrolean hotel, with clean and comfortable rooms. Half board with many options, salad buffet, soups of your choice and 7 courses of your choice. Breakfast with hot products and various cold cuts and cheeses. Available parking, a heated ski room and the bus stop right in front of the property complete the hotel's facilities.
