Hotel Rose is a fantastic place to stay. We stayed in the comfort triple which had a small room with a single bed inside the main room. The toilet was in a separate room than the shower and sink, which was a plus with three of us. The room also had closets so we could unpack and a lovely round table with cushioned benches and a balcony. Breakfast was included. The buffet had variety; something for all tastes. There is a coffee machine for cappuccinos and espresso drinks. Dinner was also included and was very well prepared and presented. The service was excellent. Location was near the ski bus stop, but also walking distance to Penkenbahn. Could easily walk to main part of town for shops and restaurants. There was a ski rental and grocery store a block away. Hotel Rose has a locker room for skis, bikes etc. Staff at the front desk were quite helpful. The staff and management at Hotel Rose have gone the extra step with the attention to detail...shelves and hooks in the bathrooms, an umbrella to borrow in the room and coat hooks, detailed menus for the next day/s dinner; a variety of lighting, etc.

The ski area has a good range of slopes for novice/intermediates. If you are a total beginner there are better areas to start your skiing adventures. The best slopes in our opinion are a few runs and ski lifts away from the ascent via the Penkenbahn but are so worth it. Ahorn is good for an easy accessible confidence boost run or 2 and has some fun areas for the children. Hintertux glacier is a good day out and free bus available but can be super busy. We flew in to Innsbruck and then took the train to Mayrhofen for the first time and it was super easy and good value.

This was my 3rd visit to Mayrhofen over the last 20 years...
This was my 3rd visit to Mayrhofen over the last 20 years and it has grown and the lift access has improved vastly. Had a very relaxing holiday and there are plenty shops and cafes/restaurants to choose from in the evening. There is a Deli across from the Penkan lift that does the most delicious smoked ham sandwich, you know it is good when you see the lines of people there in the evening.

I've been coming to Mayrhofen for 40 years, both summer and winter. Winter, as much for walking as I have for ski-ing. I've tried other Austrian towns over the years, but this place just hits the spot for a holiday. The town is deceptively large, enabling you to find places to go on a rainy day, but still retains that cosy feel with excellent coffee stops and restaurants. Excellent linked public transport, which allows many adventures. I still haven't travelled along all the side valleys. Views from the top, are simply stunning.

Mayrhofen is a lovely town, with lots of outdoor-activities to do nearby and lots of restaurants & shops.
Mayrhofen is also situated very centrally to other cable car stations, and outdoor activities further away in the valley, for example: Hintertux Glacier is relatively easy to reach by public transport (bus).

You must try the tasty Käsekrainer from pittoresque place named Steffi‘s Leckerbissen. We enjoyed dinner in natural ambiance at Gasthof Waldcafe and at Cafe-Restaurant Mount Everest. I liked the Thursday concert performed by the local orchestra. Easy to reach any point around Mayrhofen.

A very well located hotel in the city center of Mayrhofen, close to a gondol lift.
This makes the location very advantages for guests willing to get easily up to the skiing or hiking areas.
Good breakfasts and dinners, a more than satisfying SAP area with a number of saunas and swimming pools.

fabulous location and position. Rooms nicely decorated and super comfortable beds too. it’s so quiet, no doors slamming or street noise unlike other hotels in the area where we have previously stayed. Great little bar and the food we had was outstanding.Sauna, steam and wellness room are an added bonus along with heated boot/ski room.
Very nice and cozy place. Personnel were super friendly and kind! And there was no issue even we had very late arriving to hotel.
Sauna was super! It's not self-evident that you get good sauna experience outside Finland.
Location was nice. Short distance to town center and easy go by car or bus to ski resorts.

Cracking little hotel in a fantastic location, really close to Penken lift. Google map doesn’t show it, but there’s a little shortcut path that makes the walk to the lift / high street really short, about three minutes. Also the staff were wonderful and really helpful.
