For those seeking the serenity of Sikkim, embracing slow travel, or looking to work from Gangtok(Wifi speed is awesome and did work from there for the whole week) , this place is exceptional. Bagdogra International Airport is 136 km away. I was lucky enough to visit the stay on Diwali. I got to witness their local festival and culture and they all were very welcoming and involving. The food was great, people were great. Special thanks to Nishal for picking me up, Rubina for the tasty food, and Anita for the amazing special Chhaang. And also Naresh and Rupa for being the sweetest host.

Lali Gurush Homestay was one of the best Holidays I ever had. The host family made us feel that we are at home only and prepared all the cuisines we requested for. Rooms were good and with a view and with all amenities. Mr Zigmee a gem of a person showed us around Oakhrey. His father mother brother ...each and everyone just so genuine and courteous...always helpful. In Okhrey Lali Gurush Homestay is the place to be, frankly...Kudos to the home family.

I had to go trekking for a few days and they were kind enough to keep a bag for me and then allow me to come back and say in the same room I had left. Its also the cleanest place I have stayed in in India by a mile - everything felt modern and updated. Food is great too. Would happily come back again to stay :)
