The Crown Inn Pooley Bridge has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Pooley Bridge. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to be told that we had been given a room upgrade and what a lovely room it was, more like a suite, with a separate seating area with its own TV in addition to the one in the bedroom area. Breakfasts were excellent, as were lunch and dinner over the two night stay. Staff were all lovely and very obliging. We hadn’t stayed here previously, although we had been a few times and had meals/drinks outside overlooking the river but we will definitely come back soon.

Overlooking picturesque hills, Meadowcroft Country Guesthouse is a family-run guest house in the tranquil Village of Ings, 2 miles from Windermere. There is free Wi-Fi in the bedrooms. The Guest House is very well decorated clean and fresh. Our bedroom was a good size very comfortable bed with a TV and tea and coffee facilities. Excellent shower is very powerful in a separate cubicle. There is a small lounge for guests to use with a fridge and microwave. Very nice dining room and breakfast was excellent with friendly accommodating staff. Looked a bit out of the way on the map but perfect location as a base for touring the lakes. Bus stop outside. Londis supermarket next door at the garage that stocks most things you might want including food and drinks. Five min walk to a lovely pub that had a good choice of drinks and great food menu. What we had was excellent. On site car park We were very pleased with our choice and happy to recommend.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Excellent location. Was able to purchase early parking and check in. The staff were helpful and welcoming. The hotel was clean, bright, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, fruit juices, fruit, yogurt, granola and cereals and a great selection of cooked breakfast choices.

A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. Really enjoyed our stay with our cocker spaniel Willow. Very homely and comfortable. All staff excellent. Will definitely return.

We had an absolutely wonderful 2-day stay at Longsdale House Luxury Apartments in Ulverston. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The apartment was immaculate, beautifully furnished, and equipped with every amenity we could need for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was impressive – from the cozy bedding to the thoughtful touches like complimentary toiletries and a well-stocked kitchen. The living space was spacious yet cozy, making it ideal for both relaxing and spending quality family time. The location was perfect for exploring the Lake District, with easy access to local attractions while still being tucked away in a peaceful, charming area.
