Location was magical set amongst native bush. Instructions on finding the property were clear and easy to follow. Will be booking again and have recommended to friends.
Whitianga
Ideally located just 5 minutes' drive from Whitianga town centre, WoodyHanger Lodge features views over Mercury Bay and is just metres away from native bush. It boasts an outdoor pool with bay views. Free WiFi is offered. The location was incredible, but was matched by the facilities and the hospitality of Warren and Carol. The room was excellent and we enjoyed the view so much we got take out from town and came back to eat out on the balcony. The breakfast was perfect. We really wish we could have stayed longer
Whangamata
Located in Whangamata, 1.9 km from Whangamata Beach, Amazing Kiwi Lodge provides accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning and access to a garden with an outdoor swimming pool. The accommodation features a hot tub. Clare is lovely and very welcoming with information about the area, suggestions of places to visit and eat. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to our patio. Being outside of town was peaceful, and still easy to get to everything.

Wairua Lodge is set in a wonderfully secluded spot in the rainforest, where peace and quiet is the order of the day. The hosts are very friendly, presenting us with home baked bread and supplies for our breakfasts on arrival, helpful and respectful. This is a place where you can have as much physical activity and/or relaxation activity with relaxing spa, tree top bath, swim in the swimming holes and hikes for all abilities.
You do need to bring some cooking supplies for main meals which can be prepared on the BBQ or in the resort kitchen.
Te Puru
La Casa Te Puru Lodge features panoramic views of Thames, Hauraki Gulf and the rugged Coromandel Ranges. This unique Mediterranean-style villa offers rooms with views of the ocean or the Firth of Thames. Guests enjoy free parking and free WiFi. Very friendly owner. Clean room. Good bed and loved the pillows. Amazing views. Peaceful location: quiet and relaxing.
Taupo
Boasting a terrace and room service, Hare's Rest is attractively set in Taupo, 31 km from Orakei Korako Cave and Thermal Park and 31 km from Orakei Korako - The Hidden Valley. This lodge has a garden, barbecue facilities, free WiFi and free private parking. Honestly, this is the best booking I've ever experienced. Comes with access to 8 acres of land, homemade bread & cookies, and fresh eggs. The room is lovely and Allie was really nice to introduce us to her sheep and chicken.

Featuring an on-site tennis court, The Flying Trout Boutique Lodge is located in Taupo. Each spacious suites offers elegant décor and some provide views of the surrounding alpine area. Great food and atmosphere, everything a fishing lodge should be. The rooms were comfortable, the staff pleasant and accommodating. We had a great weekend away.
It is spotless and well maintained. All facilities are of a very high standard well above the level of most Backpackers lodges I have stayed at. It was so cosy warm, I only slept with a top sheet covering me.
Such a beautiful location .. the room was warm, clean, quiet and the bed was amazing. The lodges restaurant food was delicious and the Staff made you feel welcome and very attentive.
The lodges are simple but well equipped and comfortable with great outside space for relaxing. A lovely backdrop of birdsong. A great base for exploring the local area. Would definitely recommend!

It was a lovely little lodge perfect for four people. great kitchen facilities and a nice lounge. Private and separate from other lodges.
Quiet and peaceful and the lodges were spacious clean and comfy. Yeah its a little older but the bedding and towels were clean and fresh and very comfy. It had everything we needed for a 5 night stay We enjoyed the bonus of having hot mineral pools on the property. It was a great place to relax and to return to after a wonderful day enjoying hikes and the beautiful Tongariro and Lake Taupo area. We loved the calm village atmosphere and were happy to be tucked away among the refreshing natural beautiful trees and hot springs.
The lodges are pretty cool but the website leads you to believe you can see the river easily from the grounds
We got to borrow towels as we forgot to take extras away with us. Went to Debretts got given a discount with the lodges business card!! Exceptional service! The Thai restaurant is fantastic too!
