One of the most magical places I’ve been to. The road to there is bumby, meaning that it’s literally in the middle of nowhere/nature. I personally loved that. We drove there by pick up and already the way up there felt like an adventure itself. Once arrived, we saw the magical lights everywhere. The owners really wanna make it a special place, welcome you warmly, have the best food I’ve had in Nicaragua. Whatever you order, it’s amazing. The rooms were super comfortable, big, beautifully decorated and I slept like a baby. The whole area is family-/kid-friendly, nice to calm down, relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Absolutely perfect.

Situata a Balgue, a 16 km dal vulcano Maderas, La Bambouseraie vanta una fattoria di permacultura e una foresta esotica di frutta. Tutte le sistemazioni sono dotate di balcone con vista sul giardino. Bellissimo bungalow sopraelevato con sotto le amache nella foresta piena di farfalle e uccelli Camera ampia letto confortevole. Vista stupenda. Ci hanno riservato su nostra richiesta un quod per il giorno dopo Colazione buona ma molto scarsa.

Dotato di una piscina all'aperto e di un ristorante, il Totoco Eco-lodge si trova a Balgue. Il WiFi è fruibile gratuitamente nelle aree comuni. One of the highlights of our time in Nicaragua was this gorgeous eco resort. The yoga pavilion offers panoramic views of the lake and volcano; the pool is refreshing and relaxing with stunning views; the staff are delightful and helpful; the bungalows are so airy and comfortable. A lot of people mention the bugs, but honestly that’s just part of being in a tropical location (and this is an eco resort after all). The beds have mosquito nets so we slept perfectly well at night!

Situated in Santa Cruz, Dragon's Garden features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. Maderas Volcano is 6.3 km from the lodge. The location and price of Dragon's Garden is what I appreciated most. The cabins are eco friendly, there are dry toilets on the property, the showers are beautiful. All in all I think the price for what is provided is excellent. This and the staff is extremely friendly.

We woke up very early for the volcano hike, and they prepared breakfast for us so we could eat before, that was really nice. The staff was very kind and attentive. The shower had hot water. The surroundings are nice, you eat in the morning surrounded by birds and flowers. The hike to Maderas starts at the entrance of the hotel, and the staff can help you to arrange a guide.
