With mountain views, Hotel Tambopaxi is set in Machachi and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, snack bar, garden, sun terrace and children's playground. You cannot beat that view. Nicer facilities than pictured--clean and despite the traditional building design, it felt modern. Breakfast was traditional and delicious, meals were great, the woodstove kept the room incredibly cozy, sitting area was amazing, bedding and towels were good quality for a National park hotel, just loved it. The small children's playground was an excellent bonus that kept the little ones happy while the adults enjoyed the view. Staff was kind and helpful when another guest had a rude outburst (and broke a door slamming it) because a toddler in our party was crying at 4pm in the afternoon. They quickly and quietly moved him to another building, and the rest of the stay was without incident. We packed flashlights and camping lanterns expecting blackouts given the current power situation in Ecuador. I don't think we lost power when there for more than a little bit as the facility uses its own generator, but I'd recommend packing them for walking safely at night to see the incredible view of the stars. I wish we'd stayed longer than one night.

Located on the foothill of Chimborazo Volcano, Chimborazo Lodge offers rooms with heating in Chimborazo Natural reserve. There is a restaurant, and free parking is provided. Riobamba is 36 km away. What an amazing experience! We loved every minute of our stay at Chimborazo. The lodge is unbelievable - it’s been build with so much thought and care. You could lose yourself in the amazing climbing memorabilia for weeks. It’s just stunning. And we loved sitting by the fire just relaxing and meeting other guests. And our room with the view of the mountain was sensational. The food was great - and we enjoyed the whole dining experience. The location was breathtaking. To be in such a remote location and to have access to Chimborazo was a wonderful experience and one we really appreciated. And to be so close to alpacas as was also a treat. So it was an incredible experience all round - made even better by the wonderful team of people working there. They were all sensational.

Set in Cotopaxi National Park, 6 km from the entrance, Chilcabamba Lodge has comfortable rooms charming with rustic-style décor. Our stay at the lodge was absolutely amazing. We loved being in such a remote and beautiful area near Cotopaxi National Park. They offer a lot of tours and excursions but our favorite thing to do was exploring the surrounding areas on our own as well as hiking to a nearby waterfall. The staff was extremely kind, accommodating, and helpful. The food was always fresh and well prepared. We honestly could have stayed here longer and would definitely stay here again. Nag-aalok ang Ilinizas Mountain Lodge ng accommodation na matatagpuan sa Chaupi, 40 km mula sa Metropolitano del Sur Park at 45 km mula sa Army Polytechnic School. The location was perfect for our needs, offering close proximity to the mountains to acclimatise for our Cotopaxi climb. It is a family run mountain lodge and the owners Fernando and Teresa were incredibly personable and accommodating, always ready to assist with any request. They even arranged transport for us to the local mountains and the main road. One of the highlights was the delicious home-cooked meals, with breakfast and dinner included in the price. The rooms were very spacious, providing plenty of room to relax, and the showers were consistently hot, which was a welcome feature after a long day on the mountains. I’d highly recommend this mountain lodge!

Perfect stay on the way to Alausi. Very friendly owners. Both dinner and breakfast freshly prepared - it was just delicious. Whole hotel area is wonderful, just some bungalows in beautiful garden, perfect place for evening relax. They've got small shop - beer and some basic products are available.
