Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
The total experience, rooms, bedding, breakfast was way beyond what I expected for a lodge. Warm water, coffee you name it. Breakfast was very generous with fruits. No smells in the room, demarcated smoking area in place and our room did not smell of cigarettes like one lodge we were at the other time.
A secret gem is Elgro River Lodge. If you're looking for peace and quiet, don't hesitate, the area is gorgeous. The staff is amazing, they go above and above to help. Cherize Lombard, we appreciate your generosity. Undoubtedly, I'll return to the location.
From the moment I made a reservation the service was excellent. Riaan was more than helpful and friendly on our arrival and also updated us with the changes to the loadshedding schedule, traveling as a group of females we had a wonderful time and the facilities were well maintained, clean and safe. I got my car stuck in a puddle of mud and Riaan was more than willing to help me in the situation. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be returning to Thorntree Lodge.

How does it work?
1
It starts with a booking
It starts with a booking
The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
Followed by a trip
Followed by a trip
When guests stay at the property, they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff is, and more.
3
And finally, a review
And finally, a review
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.
