Tshukudu Bush Lodge, hotel in Ledig

Tshukudu Bush Lodge, set in the malaria-free Pilansburg National Park, overlooks a waterhole and is home to Africa’s Big 5 game. It features a plunge pool and spa treatments can be arranged.

Tshukudu has to be seen to be believed. It is phenomenal. I have safari’d all over Africa, and I have never come across a place as special as this. Please do not change a thing. It really is a rare gem to find a lodge so luxurious, but pure in its simplicity yet luxury. From the moment we arrived, staff could not do enough to help us. They were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The whole experience has just been exceptional. It is so rare to find a lodge so pure, that has not sold out to tourists demands for spas and gyms, yet still remain luxurious and comfortable. Pilanesberg is so beautiful - the animals are wild, not like many parks such as Kruger or the Maasai Mara where the animals have become so used to humans you can almost reach out and touch them. Here, there is still an element of having to seek out these amazing animals, and enjoy being in their presence.

Mbazo Safaris, hotel in Ledig

With Royal Bafokeng Stadium reachable in 45 km, Mbazo Safaris offers accommodation, a restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a shared lounge.

Mbazo – What a magical place! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel right at home. KG and the team greeted us with warm smiles and a welcome cocktail, setting the tone for an unforgettable stay. Our lodge was simply stunning, with incredible views and the luxury of a wood-fired hot tub. Every meal—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—was superb, offering a variety of delicious options each day. On the day we arrived, they even hosted a Braai evening, which was a fun experience! One of the highlights of our stay was after breakfast one morning when around 15 elephants gathered by the pool for their morning drink! An incredible moment I’ll never forget. And then there was the safari! Eddie, our ranger, was incredibly knowledgeable and shared in our excitement every time we encountered the animals, he also had the best eye for spotting them in the distance. He truly has one of the best jobs in the world! Beyond the animals, the park’s I scenery was vast and breathtaking. I will absolutely return to Pilanesberg National Park and, without a doubt, stay at Mbazo again.

Tambuti Lodge, hotel in Ledig

Tambuti Lodge is set in the northwestern side of Pilanesberg National Park. It offers spacious and luxurious accommodation surrounded by the trees of the old Tambuti forest.

Tambuti is the best accommodation experience I think I've ever had. Better than any 4* or 5* hotel that I've stayed at, so truly exceptional. The warmth of the welcome, the attention to detail, the thoughtfulness and care - all were just wonderful. Plus we had tremendous food and drink, a beautiful building and location, and a marvellous guided safari experience. Very intimate (just 5 suites) and outstanding in every respect.

Kgorogoro Lodge, hotel in Ledig

Offering mountain views, Kgorogoro Lodge in Pilanesberg offers accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and barbecue facilities.

We cannot recommend Kgorogoro lodge enough - beautiful location, large rooms, even larger living area, the BEST staff and ranger. We travelled as a group of 7 adults and 5 kids (8months - 4.5 years) and it was perfect! The photo's on the advert do not do the accommodation justice at all.

A jewel of a lodge - situated in its own private area of the Pilanesburg National Park. Exclusive with fantastic staff, excellent and knowledgable field guides and only 10 rooms which make it extra special! Everything is custom to your needs and nothing is too much trouble - all for a fraction of the price of a private game reserve. Super easy to get to from Johannesburg

This is quite a large lodge inside Pilanesberg National Park. It is positioned in between the smaller more exclusive lodges you would find in most national parks and cheaper rest camps. One game drive was included in the room rate and I could book an additional game drive at a reasonable price. There are various activities available at the lodge and I think it would be quite attractive for families with children. Meals are served at a buffet restaurant.
