Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
I found this location for our hike in the Grand Canyon, I wanted to do the longer hike from South Kaibab trrail to the river and back and I needed something closer to the Grand Canyon National Park but at a cheaper price than the lodges on the rim itself. This was perfect, cheaper, yet close enough.
I love the concept of a tiny off the grid home. Even though tiny, it had everything we needed. Minimalist, yet tasteful interior. Super comfy mattress (pillows could be better if I were nitpicking).
It’s in the middle of nowhere, but that’s the best part about it - it’s so peaceful, quiet and I’ve never seen starrier sky. It’s only 30 min from the Grand Canyon South entrance and much cooler than the park lodges
As they say, it’s a remote area with tents where you can hear the wildlife at night. The bed was really comfortable, the tent is cozy and we could park in front of the tent.
Location was very convenient to access the Grand Canyon. The house had two bedroom and two bathroom so it could lodge 4 people but it was tight so don't take it if you want to spend a lot of time at home. This was perfect for our plans to be outdoor, visiting Grand Canyon. It had a small fridge and a coffee machine, which was convenient. For this price we were not able to find anything better, I am really happy how it turned out.
Cozy Cabins, huuuge Bed and lot of warm Blankets. The Food was very good but a bit pricey. Staff was super helpful. Parking lot directly in front of Our Cabin. Live music in the lodge every evening.
Location was right by the road, old but clean, 30 minutes from Grand Canyon which was reasonable to drive back and forth, so it was much cheaper than lodges inside of the park. We started our day early to avoid long lines at the entrance.
nice location - close to Grand Canyon but still away enough for them to not charge an arm and a leg for lodging
big room, comfy beds
