Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Location was perfect. Can easily walk to river and across Ponte Luis bridge to port wine lodges or uphill toward Torre de Clerigos, Sao Bento Station, etc. Dozens of good restaurants within short walking distance. Apartment was clean and accommodated a family of four adults. Well-furnished with just enough dishes etc. Good wifi. Communication with hosts was excellent.
Fantastic location by the Cathedral so close to all old town and the river front. Also close to the Ponte Louis 1 Bridge to the other side of river where all the wine lodges are. Just a few minutes from the metro. Lovely clean and well sized apartment. The contact person was very helpful and friendly. Overall a great place to stay in Porto.
Location right in the middle of the city with view of port lodges, restaurants and takeaways next door. Apartments was clean, and spacious with lovely breakfast
Friendly and informative staff. Great breakfast. Location superb - on the river across from the port lodges and adjacent to the bridge and historical centre. Tram stop directly outside the hotel.
perfect location, walking distance to everything. Lovely building with an elevator! Room was spacious and comfortable, great view across the Duoro to the port lodges. Staff were wonderful and helpful with recommendations. Very good breakfast and afternoon cakes with tea and coffee.
The hotel was exceptional. The location was excellent, and our room had an amazing view of the city. The breakfast was very good with eggs and bacon made to order and a delicious buffet of other treats. While everything was excellent, the service of the staff members was the most memorable part. They helped us arrange for restaurants in the evening as well as coordinated a tour at one of the wine lodges. The location is also excellent for accessing all of Porto and walking to Gaia.
The guesthouse has only 6 rooms and we had the whole of the top floor with wonderful views of Luis I bridge, the river and the port lodges. The property is in a great central location - perfect for exploring the city. But what makes this place a delight to stay at is the personal and warm welcome from our hosts. They could not have been more helpful - great recommendations for eating and things to do.
Fantastic location over looking the Douro and a five minute walk from the quayside with the port lodges of Gaia just over the bridge. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff really friendly, we really enjoyed our stay.
