Fantastic location with a lot of character and quirkiness among stunning lavender gardens and farm animals. Super nice and welcoming host. Loved the breakfast with freshly baked warm bread and self made yoghurt. Thoroughly enjoyed the Lavender infused outdoor bath.

So many great little touches, for example automatic curtains, comprehensive bidet. Staff make your stay very personable. Well chosen wine pairings and a menu with plenty of local produce
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Very welcoming and cosy lodge, with a nice view.
Walking distance from the main street and beach.
Self-service breakfast trays were nice and featured good food.
Good view, great location and an amazing lodge and kitchen. Love this place! Feeling warm when you inside of the room. Self check in and check out. Good commuication.
Dolphin Lodge in Kaikoura was a wonderful place to stay. The friendly staff made us feel very welcome, and the lounge with its nice fireplace created a super cozy atmosphere. The location is amazing, providing easy access to all that Kaikoura has to offer. Highly recommended!
Friendly welcome from Veronika, who gave us some complementary milk and we bought some lovely free-range eggs. We stayed in The Lodge, which has a very well-equipped kitchen and lots of nice furniture. So much space! Very comfortable beds. The bathroom (wet room) was quite basic but absolutely fine. We liked that separate boxes were provided for sorting recycling. Free laundry facilities. Various games, puzzles and DVDs. Very peaceful location
Manakau Lodge is situated beautifully between the ocean and the mountains. Janice was a wonderful and gracious host, helping me with dinner recommendations and reservations, offering to drive us there, showing us walking trails nearby and providing us with fresh eggs for breakfast. The lodge is just perfect. Clean, beautiful, and had all the perfect “touches”. The sunrise that morning was incredible.
Room was spacious, clean and well-equipped. Lodge is located close to Kaikoura (centre) and the activities you might want to undertake. Owners were very friendly!
Sitting directly across from a stunning mountain range is the delightful, well-managed Fyffe Country Lodge. Hosts Chris & Colin are the friendliest people we’ve met on our travels around New Zealand. It felt as though we’ve known each other for many years. The grounds are lovingly maintained. Our room, was perfect with its elegant decor and cleanliness beyond expectations. Meals were delicious and well-presented.
I stayed in my own private room. It was perfect for a 3 night stay. The family who run the lodge are super friendly and chatty.
The kitchen area was quite quiet when I stayed but I still met a few nice travellers. It was cleaned everyday.
