This is a beach front property. Sleep with the sounds of the waves. Elizabeth and Selwyn were wonderful hosts. Left having made new friends. The way the property is set up is fabulous. Will leave future guests to discover Awatuna Sunset Lodge. We loved our stay here!

It was an exceptional experience to stay one night in the lodge with a stunning view. The owners made everything to make the guests feel comfortable and welcoming, just like staying with friends. The complimentary sundowner and the beach ride on the amphibious car made our stay definitely one of the highlights of our 4-week trip in NZ.

Great stay! The lodge is located just off the CBD of Hokitika and a short walk to the beach. What was really nice is that due to a physical issue, I found it a challenge to carry our suitcases upstairs. I emailed the hosts and they promptly arranged for us to stay in a larger downstairs unit, at the same cost. (It just happened to be available for the nights we stayed.) Also, the firestation decor was a lot of fun. Kitchen was great and well equiped for out breakfast preparation.
