The property is amazing, very calm and with lot of Nature surrounding the lodge. The animals are running freely.
The staff is very attentive and friendly.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
This was our first 2 nights after a long overnight flight and the location, staff and wonderful animals on the lodge grounds all blew us away. We loved the home-cooked Namibian dinners and hot breakfast. Every staff member was kind and helpful. This is somewhere you should stay at without hesitation.
Aloegrove Safari Lodge is outstanding in every aspect. It is rare that you stay somewhere that you cannot fault anything. Aloegrove is one of those places where everything is perfect - the setting, the view, the service, the food, the comfort of the rooms, the warm welcome and the amazing afternoon game drive all make Aloegrove a truely wonderful place to stay.
We stayed here a few years ago and loved it so much we came back. Did not disappoint. Lovely setting, friendly staff, really nice thatched lodge and good food.
It's an easy drive from the airport as either a first or last stop.
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed a visit to the cheetah sanctuary which was just over an hour away.
Good marked walks with great views.
We went on one of the afternoon safaris and saw a few rhinos close up including a baby one.
Highly recommend
This is a very nice lodge. They have a huge natural reserve where you can see a lot of animals (to be honest, better than Etosha). The rooms have a very nice view and are very big. The game safaris are the best EVER with the best guides. Food is correct. Staff is ok, they could be more friendly. I do recommend this place.
The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. The staff are excellent and very friendly. The quality of the food for dinner was excellent. The animals roam free around the lodges.
Spacious clean rooms on a property with free-roaming animals, ideally located when going north from Windhoek. Family-owned and run. All very new. The owners chose a very clean style with comes over a little bare after staying in sometimes overly decorated lodges.
Close to Waterberg NP if you have time.
Fantastic location in the middle of the nature and a reserve. Beautiful landscape view. Well furnished for self catering but also a nice restaurant with a terrace and a swimming pool from where you can see the savannah. We have taken the 2 hours safari in the lodge private reserve, we have seen black springboxes, a lion, a cheetah and a jaguar for instance and we have learnt many things about them thanks to our host.
Interesting architecture…they managed to blend a bit of modernism with African styled interior, whereas most Lodges where we have been to, are basically old farm houses. Really nice clean room, lots of space nicely furnished. Loved the breakfast!
Very good accommodation for stopover in Otjiwarongo. We stayed here one night and visited Okonjima as a day tour (around 1 hour drive).
The rooms are spacy and very comfy. The lodge is beautifully decorated and has a cute patio.
Excellent breakfast!
Value for money is really good considering the prices for other lodges.
