The owner was incredibly helpful and advised us well on how make the most of our time in beautiful Sigiriya. He happily drove us wherever we needed to go in his tuk tuk which is a real advantage. While there are some parts of the hotel still being built, the rooms are very clean, cozy, and tastefully furnished. The location is within 200 meters walking distance to several restaurants, etc. and the Lion Rock park is only ~5 minutes away

The homestay itself is close enough to the city and restaurants that you can walk or easily tuk tuk to Lion Rock, Pidurangala Rock, etc. But it’s also in the jungle enough that you can enjoy a view of the rock, with just the sounds of monkeys and birds when you wake up. The rooms are big, and very clean. The fan is enough at night to cool you and the mosquito nets keep you from getting bitten.
And then the kindness and generosity that the family greets you with is unmatched. The breakfasts every morning were some of the best we’ve had in a month traveling South Asia. Fresh, delicious and filling. They even make breakfast for you late if you come back from a morning tour. And they are happy to advise you on things to do in the area (or what not to do in the case of running into wild elephants!). In fact, we chatted with Sadeepa about our upcoming safari plans in Udawalawe and he commented to us the Eco Park in Habanara actually had a lot of elephants at the moment, and helped us arrange a safari that was considerably less expensive than the one we had planned, with far fewer tourists!
We loved our stay at the Hillside View Villa and would have stayed even longer if we could have!

We loved this stay and felt super comfortable here. We are most nights at the lodge and the food was really good and reasonably priced compared to the tourist restaurants. The family were so nice. We also did a safari with Sisira to Hurulu which was amazing - highly recommend this place!
It was lovely and comfortable where we stayed in one of the lodges. The treehouse looked really nice too. The area was out of main Sigiriya, so was quiet, which is just what we wanted. The owner was really friendly and welcoming.
Dinesh and family were the perfect hosts. Faultless hospitality, lodges beautiful and clean, flexible catering, food always excellent. Arranged transport and guides for Jeep Safari, Lion Rock, Dambulla Cave Temple and even obtained tickets for international cricket match! Best host of our 3 week stay in Sri Lanka.

Staff very good , gd location rice paddies nearby good for birdwatching . Room and little private inset terrace. Hotel set out a bit like game lodges over number of floors.
The pool is fantastic, in such a beautiful setting surrounded by wildlife. The gardens are more mature than the photos and are really beautiful. We only stayed one night but I would’ve liked to have stayed longer for this! The lodges are cool and the rooms are very spacious.
We loved the coconut shades restaurant which had authentic food and the cappuccino cafe which is western but good if you’re feeling a bit homesick!
The lodges are spacious and spotless, with comfy beds and crisp linens. large picture windows and a wooden veranda with a view of the bats flying home to roost at sunset. The setting is quite magical, with peacocks, monkeys, iguanas and mongooses inhabiting the grounds. There is a large and well maintained pool which is very welcome. The Sri Lankan breakfast is very tasty and a short walk away Wilhara restaurant serves great food. Great location from which to visit Lion Rock Sigiriya
The owners of the lodge are the most friendly, caring and helpfull people to be found. Ajith and his wife made sure we were ok, needed anything and helped us with bookings for safari and finding restaurants and places to visit. The breakfast, served on the terrace outside your room was tasteful and great in variation.
The lodge has fine, clean rooms, with comfortable beds and good working ac. We loved to watch te monkeys playing in the trees around the guesthouse and even on the balconies.
