The breakfast was the best free breakfast I had at a hostel. I didn't know we had a free shuttle to the ski lifts so that was a plus as well. David and Ellie were fantastic hosts. They went out of their way to answer my basic questions and also to help me ship my snowboarding gear using a luggage service. The quality of service they offered is the main reason I would recommend staying here.

Separate cottage located in nature. The cottage is basic but has space, a toilet, a nice futon-bed and a wood stove, like old good times. Perfect to disconnect from work stress.
The location is good, not too far from Niseko slopes (15 min by car) and other ski resorts (Rusutsu).
Owners are so lovely and amazing: you will be hosted by a Japanese (old) couple, they provide breakfast on demand (chip, 1000 yen/day) and they are there to help for any needs. Tickets for local onsen (super local experience) is included!

With so much of Niseko now fancy new apartment buildings and hotels, Grandpapa is a welcome old-school style ski lodge. Super friendly / helpful staff, comfortable rooms / beds, and a free shuttle bus that gets you to the Hirafu Gondola for 8am. It's also less than 10mins walk from most of the Hirafu restaurants and bars (and 2 mins from the famous Fridge Bar), but on a nice quiet street, so you get the best of both worlds. Very reasonably priced too!

Nice little ski lodge. The location is an outside of Niseko village, an 8 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop. Great free breakfast in the morning and the hosts are very friendly!!
Both lodges are equipped with everything you need during a ski holiday. But the real asset is the exceptional staff and the atmosphere. We were immediately integrated and got great tips about skiing and other things to do. Every morning there is a shuttle to the slopes - that allows you to be there early to catch the powder.
When I was looking, Niseko Ski Lodge Higashiyama was by far the cheapest place within walking distance to the ski lift (Banzai), from which you can get a free ride to the nearest lift ticket window (Hilton).
They feed you an all you can eat breakfast that is filling, if not particularly exciting.
Everyone is very nice.
Snowgum Lodge was a basic but well set up Ski Lodge with great kitchen facilities. Access to the Recreational Facilities at the Ramat Lodge was a bonus.
Breakfast (included) was awesome and times were flexible.
Staff went above and beyond I broke my ankle on the first night. They provided extra transportation and ferried us around and nothing seemed too much to ask.
