It was beautiful and modern. The addition of the hot in was great when we’d climbed Scafell Pike. The park was also lovely and clean and the lodges were very spread apart. It didn’t feel crowded at all.

Lovely quiet location. Neat cottage, comfortable bed ensuring good night sleep, Exceptionally clean on arrival. Great communication with the host. Parking is right outside. The access road is adjacent to a caravan park but these are privately owned holiday lodges and very quiet. The only sound at night is the gentle stream running through the grounds below the cottage. If you don't like the sound of song thrushes, sheep and babbling brook then this is not for you. Loved the shady terrace at the back of the property for evening drinks

The view was outstanding, room was quiet, free and easy parking, balcony a bonus. Beautiful old hotel building, with added "lodges" around it. Parking on site, literally 5 mins from Windermere and 10 mins from Coniston.

The location within the town was central and only a short walk to the shops and cafes. Although quite small, the single room exceeded my expectations with all the usual amenities including a television and a very comfy bed. All very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent and as I work in the hospitality trade myself, it was most certainly up to my high standards. The owners are lovely people and willing to help at every opportunity. I visit Windermere annually and I will return to Lakes Lodges.

Location is exceptional with super views of Lake Windermere. The older parts of the hotel are lovely - lots of warm wood in Arts and Crafts style. Our newer room (one of the “lodges” was comfortable and very spacious with a good en-suite bathroom. The little spa facility was nice. Breakfasts were ample and delicious.
