The lodge was in a beautiful location, it had everything needed, and was tastefully furnished with a little patio area to sit out, and it was lovely to sit and watch the sunset, we had lovely views, but it is out on its own, so you need a car to go out to eat etc, but the setting makes up for this.
I did leave something and Sarah did locate it and post back to me, and I was very grateful for that.
The lodge was immaculately clean and furnished with everything we needed and more. The location is lovely - on the outskirts of Kirkwall with views over fields and the town to the sea and hills beyond. It was very peaceful and surrounded by fields and wild flowers - a relaxing place to sit on the deck or in the hot tub. We were thrilled to see a hare meandering around on several days. Dorothy was a super kind and thoughtful host. We very much enjoyed our stay.
We liked everything about this place. The location is so beautiful and the lodge was so beautiful and clean. Would love to stay here again. Rich and Sarah were amazing and sorted out all our needs.
The accommodation and location were fantastic. An excellent base for exploring Orkney. The locals we met were all extremely friendly. Amazed at the birdlife around the lodge.
Absolutely fabulous! A really special place, overlooking Kirkwall and walking distance from the centre. We were on Orkney with our bicycles and Berstane Lodges was a perfect base for our 4 night stay. The hot tub was a perfect way to start each evening. The welcome treats left by our wonderful host were perfect too.
The lodges were a dream come true for our kids. They loved staying in what they called the ‘tiny house’ and didn’t want to leave. We had the family one with the hunks beds. Sitting in the hot tub with a view out over farmland to the sea was lovely.
These lodges are of such a high standard. Larger than any others we have stayed in before. Cleanliness was exceptional. Small extra touches as local bread, cheese, butter provided was lovely. The owners are so welcoming and attentive to any needs. If you’re ever staying in Orkney this would be the accommodation to go to. On top of that the sea view from the lodges and over Kirkwall is great. Overall could not fault one bit and will definitely be back. Thank you Dorothy and Andy
The property was equipped with everything you could need. The location was very peaceful and the views were lovely. The grounds were well kept and the lodge itself was very spacious. The lodge was decorated so nicely making it a welcoming home. We were lucky to have a hot tub which really added to our experience. The team at Lilly’s lodges were superb. We left something in the lodge and they gave us a phone shortly after we checked out to let us know.
Great secluded location, had a couple of heavy gates to shift to get there but was the right way as lillies lodges sign was at the bottom. Shower seemed to drain very slowly so we were worried about flooding the bathroom. Otherwise the stay was perfect. Hottub in a hailstorm was a memorable experience for sure. Really loved it.
