Situated 8.7 km from Maeshowe, the property features a garden and free private parking. The view and privacy was amazing, we loved the cosy wooden lodge style and the inside and warmth and we loved the shower 🚿 also we loved outside decking area outside. It was in a really convenient location to travel all around Orkney with just a short drive to the main town centre, but the views of the country side and the sea were priceless. 🐬

Located 8.7 km from Maeshowe, the property provides a garden and free private parking. Everything was perfect! Such a cozy place among farm land. I loved hearing the sheep while having a coffee in the morning with my book. There is a mini fridge with a freezer! so I was able to buy some ice cream and store it for later, the bathroom has towel warmers, and the shower is spacious. I needed help with the shower on my first day and in less than 5 minutes Graham came in and helped me. We also chatted a bit about his travels. What a wonderful time!

My sister and I made a last minute trip to Orkney and so glad we decided on Berstane. There are not enough superlatives to describe this accommodation. Apart from the stunning location the pod is fitted out to an amazing standard, exceptionally clean with a great hot tub to relax in after days of sightseeing. Dorothy is an amazing host with great communication, we loved the friendly banter😊

Berstane Lodges is a lovely accommodation that is immaculately clean, well appointed with everything you need and the host is friendly and welcoming.
The lodges were a dream come true for our kids. They loved staying in what they called the ‘tiny house’ and didn’t want to leave. We had the family one with the hunks beds. Sitting in the hot tub with a view out over farmland to the sea was lovely.
we had lodges 1, 2 and 3, fabulous location, easy access keys left in key box for a midnight check in, great parking, good directions to find in the dark first time around... but..
Great secluded location, had a couple of heavy gates to shift to get there but was the right way as lillies lodges sign was at the bottom. Shower seemed to drain very slowly so we were worried about flooding the bathroom. Otherwise the stay was perfect. Hottub in a hailstorm was a memorable experience for sure. Really loved it.
Easy access, warm,comfortable and very clean. Great views. Peaceful location and not overlooked by the other lodges.
Great location to walk into Stromness, although it is uphill to go home!! Well equipped cottage, clean and tidy. They helped me out massively as realised I'd booked ferry for night before accommodation was booked but managed to get us into one of their Lodges for 1 night which was stunning
Beautiful and private lodge with amazing views over Stromness bay. Amazing welcome pack and well enough equipped for the size of the lodge. Hot tub was great. Balcony was ample for the 2 of us and allowed enough privacy from the other lodges as well as surrounding properties Short walk down into Stromness for shops and a great base to explore Orkney mainland.
The lodge was beautiful and the views were stunning, regardless of the weather. Everyone knew where the lodges were so when we asked the bus driver or taxi driver to take us there, they knew where to stop. The lodge had everything we needed, was pristine and very comfortable. Definitely recommend.
