This is a horsebox which has been converted into a great little place to stay. It's small, so don't expect miracles, but everything you need is there. It has a clean, efficient toilet and shower, a well supplied kitchen and a lovely little wood burner. Everything is well described in the information booklet. The animals in the nearby field are lovely and the location is beautiful in the middle of the countryside. The decor is charming and everything worked as required. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to my questions.
Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
We stayed at Ebor Lodge for the second time and we enjoyed it very much: the welcome, the pristine large room, the facilities and the most of all how our guests were helpful.
Sharon the host was amazing and very welcoming, made us feel right at home on arrival.
Bay Lodge Guest House was spotless and the little extras went down very well. Tea, coffee, biscuits, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, water etc. The list is endless.
Breakfast was spot on, a great selection on the menu and plenty of it. It was very well cooked, tasted superb. It really set us up for the day.
Amazing! Everything at Sharon's establishment is top-notch. Super friendly and helpful service. Easy check in and check out. Excellent breakfast, prepared and served with care. Lots of room supplies readily available. Sharon clearly wants to go above and beyond to please her guests. We loved our stay at the Bay Lodge Guest House.
We were pleased with all aspects in terms of facilities, location and cleanliness of Ebor Lodge. Our hosts were very lovely and the breakfast was exceptional. The Breakfast was also wonderful.
Really good value for money. As long as you know what type of hotel you're staying in, you won't be disappointed. Lots of OAPs arriving in coaches and cheesy entertainment. Basic breakfast. But we knew this before we booked. It was cheaper and more comfortable than a travel lodge.
We found the Ebor Lodge welcoming, very clean the room was very nice Breakfast was superb the selection was varied and the presentation of hot dishes was excellent
David and Pascal were perfect hosts
Ebor Lodge never fails to impress me, I always choose to stay here when I'm in Eastbourne. The hosts David and Pascal are always welcoming and knowledgeable about local events, the breakfast is exceptional.
Seafront location with street parking nearby, the room was clean and functional, very firm bed, bathroom was clean but basic. I’d put it on a par with a Travelodge which is fine for what I paid and the location is a bonus.
It is what it is...a slightly tired formerly quite grand hotel now offering excellent value for money. Still got a bar, staff are pleasant, a little upgrade buys you a sea view, breakfast is good so what more do you want? I prefer faded grandeur to the Travelodge any day, this place gets my vote, have stayed before and I'll stay again.
