Ideal for nature lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and have kitchen facilities. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than vacation homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Lodge was excellent, as was the accommodation. Not that it really bothered us, but the location on the booking.com site is way out. Lodge is at Moota 6 miles from Cockermouth.
Philippa is a very nice and warm welcome lady. The lodge was amazing,tidy, and comfortable ,located at the beautiful place.

Daffodil Lodge was absolutely stunning. Walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower in master bedroom. TVs in both bedrooms. HUGE smart TV in lounge. Well equipped kitchen with every utensil you could ever need. Beautiful crystal glasses (we were very careful 😊). It was perfect!
Bears lodge was lovely. The lodge was lovely and clean, facilities were good too. Area cockermouth was easy to get to plenty of shops. Pubs were lovely too, the grey hound Inn was beautiful, food tasty too.
Philippa was very welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed. The lodge is furnished beautifully and super cozy and comfortable. All kitchen and cooking equipment is provided, along with lots of lovely extra bits to make the stay more enjoyable (e.g., board games, magazines, DVDs).
