Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
I loved the whole college experience, the warm welcome from the staff, its location and the chance to experience even for a short time the Cambridge university campus life. It was wonderful as was the breakfast in the upper hall the following morning. The porter lodge staff did the college proud as ambassadors and face of the college for visitors such as myself.
Great location for dropping my daughter back for her university easter term.
The travel lodges were full or over priced, so this suited my budget.
Staff were lovely, receptionist particularly so.
Very smart breakfast eating area, with staff waiting on you.
Beautiful drawing/ morning room with a selection of daily papers spread out for visitors.
