Pacuare River Lodge, hotel in Bajo Tigre

Pacuare River Lodge is a secluded property located amid the rainforest outside of Turrialba, accessible by 4x4 and raft.

Nestled in the rainforest, the Pacuare Lodge had simple, affordable accomodations. The staff, Moises, Fernando and the others are amazing. We felt so cared for. Sleeping in our Glamping Room, while it was raining, watching the clouds move into and out of the mountains, the birds, it was perfect! We enjoyed the river rafting so much. The staff cooked family meals that were eaten with the others staying at the lodge, it was such a beautiful community. Joanna was a wonderful hostess, with great communication. She even got on the phone with me several times to help us choose how many nights we needed and details about the rafting trip. Highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Pacuare Lodge by Böëna, hotel in Bajo Tigre

With river views, Pacuare Lodge by Böëna is located in Bajo Tigre and has a restaurant, a concierge service, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

I loved almost everything: the nature, the organization, the crew, the attention to the details, the room, the property, the sustainability, the great taste in decoration, the full board, the activities menu, the isolation close to the river. One of my best hotel/stays in my life: it was the most exciting "check-in process" to arrive and leave from a boat doing rafting in a gorgeous place (Thanks Dani Flaco! & Luis for the pics and fun!). I also loved to have the option to shower before go to the airport and have lunch over a boat: all those details... I loved the canopy and the sympathy of Luis as the instructor Dave! The room was stunning. I'll remember this forever, for sure. I wish we could stay for many days, we didn't have time to enjoy the pool and any other activities.

Corredores del Pacuare, hotel in Bajo Tigre

Offering free WiFi and an outdoor pool, Corredores del Pacuare is located on Pacayitas, from La Suiza district (Taxi station) 6.8 mi North, at this point you will find the San Vicente intersection...

Very good experience. The hotel is somewhat remote (9km drive on unpaved road). Gilberth (the owner) is a very nice person. He really helped me when I got stuck driving a small FWD car, and prepared a very good breakfast. Highly recommended place to stay, but I would recommend driving a 4x4 in that area.

Hotel Wagelia Espino Blanco, hotel in Bajo Tigre

With mountain views, Hotel Wagelia Espino Blanco is located in Turrialba and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden and terrace.

The location is beautiful but this type of accomodation is just not my thing. There is no electricity in the cabins, something that is not indicated clearly. No electricity means no hot water and when it's cold out, a hot shower is appreciated. The water was ice cold. I'm all for saving the planet but I'm not ready to trun into a cave woman.

The lodge is located on a beautiful property overlooking the Pacuare River. The owners Kirk and Joanna and all the staff were excellent. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. The rafting was superb with the best guide Bluche. Highly recommended by me.

This eco lodge is in a stunning location overlooking the Pacquare river. The staff is extremely nice and friendly and took care of us very well. They have a beautiful kitchen and dining area to hangout, overlooking the Pacquare river ! The price for the lodge included delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner, served fresh and hot. We also did a couple of hikes around the resort. Diego was a great guide !. All the staff members/river guides were extremely friendly - Diego, Walter, Johnny. This place is a great value for money !

It is one of the most experiences I've ever had even when I am Costa Rican. This lodge is amazing, the staff is super friendly and the cost/experience ratio is worth it. It really is on the wild side but the huts and the beds were really comfortable and mosquito proof which is always a plus. Highly recommended!

Like I mentioned, Michael was an amazing guide. How it works is that your guide rafts you in, is the one who takes care of your experience for the entirety of your stay at the lodge and then rafts you out on the river. While we were there we hiked to two different waterfalls, had beautiful meals cooked by the guides and really enjoyed the tranquility of the location.

This place is amazingly beautiful. Arrived to late to raft in so they picked us up and we 4x4 to property on a true 4x4 path. Location is perfectly perched on hillside overlooking river and surrounding jungle. A lot of old growth forest. The location sort of opens up like an amphitheater, photos cannot so it justice. Much better location than the other more expensive lodges. Really is pure bliss!!!

The trip is beginning before you will get to the Lodge! The up-and-down road with a lot of rocks and dirt will definitely tickle your nerves, so do not try to drive there with the rental car :) The lodge is good placed on the top, so we got an amazing view to the jungle and river. The bungalow was good protected against the mosquitos. The plenty amounts of hummingbirds were flying around. The staff was friendly and caring.

Friendly staff. Excellent food. The opportunity to raft in and out of the lodge is just amazing. Our guides Abel and Cucci were made it very safe and fun. There's always something to do at the lodge. Definitely a worthy experience.
