Chapter House Boutique Hotel by The Living Journey Collection, hotel in Franschhoek

In the heart of the Franschhoek village, the elegant Chapter House Boutique Hotel offers an outdoor pool overlooking the Franschhoek Mountains.

We stayed at Chapter House for one night and had a wonderful experience, wishing we could have stayed longer. Large and quiet room with nice interior design. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. There were enough parking lots reserved for hotel guests in front of the property and the overall premises felt safe. It is possible to walk to the restaurants on the main street, even during the evening. The entire staff made our stay very enjoyable and were happy to provide good local recommendations. By chance, prior to Chapter House we stayed at their sister hotel in Cape Town, which delivered the same level of quality.

Don't bother wasting your time with Stellenbosch - you can uber to those wineries anyway. Franschhoek is quaint, walkable and safe. It's close to some of the best wineries and has a laid back vibe.

The wine farms are great, close to each other so you spend less time on the road. I recommend places that offer breakfast as well to avoid spending that much or waking up too early to find a spot to eat as they aren't that many.

It is a great little town with lots of character, amazing restaurants, and access to some of the best wine estates. However, the boutiques and crafts stores are overpriced and feel like they are ripping off tourists.

I love Franschhoek, feels like your in a different country. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, for every taste and budget. Everything is in walking distance. Very nice shops to browse or buy some souvenirs. Plenty of wine farms around and if you don't want to drive take the famous Wine Tram.

The town is adorable and very safe.

The town is adorable and very safe. It is very french in the type of food served at several places (Reuben's is fantastic) and in many of the wineries. The town is known for it's gourmet restaurants and exquisite wines, all are affordable. And then there's the shopping! I like the small size of the town as it is intimate at 17,500 people and everyone is very friendly. It is very easy to walk around and the wine train is helpful for exploring the many wineries. We ended up staying an extra 2 days and would have loved to stay longer!

Our initial booking had a strong unpleasant odor and was surrounded by baboons, making it difficult to open the doors. However, the owners promptly responded and swiftly upgraded us to a fantastic property. Their professionalism was exemplary.

Very spacious room with a cozy roof and very comfy matrasses. The property is calm and silent but still close to Franschhoek which makes it a perfect location to relax while having the opportunity to explore and dine out easily. The complementary wine tasting on the nearby wine farm was very nice!

Very friendly small hotel with great service. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection and hot food prepared to order. In the afternoon cake and coffee was served. The pool area was beautiful with comfortable sun loungers. Good location centrally in Franschhoek.

The friendly staff, the smooth check-in experience, the beautiful mountain view from our bedroom, the very comfortable bed and bathtub (perfect after a day out in the vineyards). The location of the hotel also made it easy to explore the night life of Franschhoek.
