Be prepared for at least 48 potholes to traverse if you're travelling anywhere. There's a lovely gift shop called Ugly Duckling you just have to browse. We had dinner at the restaurant at Dragons Peak but you have to book. There's a splendid golf course where you can hire clubs

We have been visiting the Champagne Vallet for 20/30 years - we have timeshare at Drakensberg Sun and Champagne Sports - our time there is our sort of holiday (we are both in our 80s) so don't want to rush around everywhere - just sit and relax.

Mount Champagne sits below the most magnificent mountain.

Mount Champagne sits below the most magnificent mountain. It changes constantly throughout the day and I have always been fascinated since I first visited 49 years ago. It did not disappoint this time. This region has everything u could need. Shops, restaurants, hiking, river, swimming pools, friendly staff. So much to see and enjoy. I will make a point of a few days here every time I visit from the UK. Beautiful.
