Breakfast was cooked to my liking and well prepared but lacked an element of wow! Generally food was also good but no wow factor. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Cayley Mountain Resort, hotel in Champagne Valley

Cayley Mountain Resort offers accommodation in Bergview, set in the central Drakensberg with views over the Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle ranges.

The weather was not good during our baecation. It was cloudy and / or raining. We liked the fact that there was a jacuzzi in our room, so we took advantage of the Jaccuzi. The cleaning service that is provided daily on the rooms is much appreciated. We never ran short of anything in the room. It was our first time riding the quadbikes, and the gentleman who guided us was too friendly and patient . He even took pictures and videos while we were enjoying the ride. We didn't inform the staff of Cayley logde that it was our anniversary, but they made sure that we received our gift the following day. We also went for chocolate tasting at Drakensburg chocolate memerios. We really enjoyed the spa on our last day.

Being surrounded by nature, the intimacy of the place and the ambience The hot tub was definitely one of our favourite parts of this experience, being able to relax after a hike and appreciate the landscape. The living room with a fire place to enjoy the quiet evenings being warm and playing board games Ryan, the host that welcomed us is charming and shared with us his knowledge and stories about this wonderful place.

Mount Champagne sits below the most magnificent mountain.

Mount Champagne sits below the most magnificent mountain. It changes constantly throughout the day and I have always been fascinated since I first visited 49 years ago. It did not disappoint this time. This region has everything u could need. Shops, restaurants, hiking, river, swimming pools, friendly staff. So much to see and enjoy. I will make a point of a few days here every time I visit from the UK. Beautiful.

The hotel is situated in a busy valley, with plenty of activities close by. Yet it was extremely tranquil with the most amazing views of the Drakensberg. The food and service was incredible. An overall fantastic getaway, will be back.

The spa was great, but the Bell & whistle Restaurant, terrible, food is overpriced and really bad. Electricity was off the one night, when it wasn't even loadshedding, their generator wasn't working, because it was not serviced. The Leap adventure, we did the quad biking, basically paid over R900 just to drive around in circles?? Will never go again
