My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Melamar Estate, and it was an experience we'll cherish for years. From the moment we arrived, we felt a welcoming atmosphere that made our stay special.
The bungalows are charming and comfortable, each equipped with its own private BBQ. We enjoyed a lovely evening grilling and dining al fresco, with the stunning natural surroundings adding a magical touch to our meal.
The estate's on-site lapa and restaurant are exclusive to guests, offering a short but excellent menu that emphasizes fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every dish we tried was a culinary delight
Parking is ample and free, which made our stay even more convenient. We also appreciated the estate's commitment to environmental sustainability, highlighted by the presence of free-roaming animals as we are both digital nomad’s that work in the sustainability business. It was nice to see these creatures in their natural habitat, and it reminded us of the importance of being considerate guests in such a beautiful environment.
In summary, Melamar Estate exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of private bungalows, excellent dining, a pristine swimming pool, and thoughtful amenities created a perfect retreat for us.
Ecolux Boutique Hotel is located in Komatipoort, just 10 km from the Crocodile Bridge Gate which is the most eastern entrance to the Kruger National Park.

Fantastic location overlooking Crocodile River- we saw lions, hippo and other animals / birds every day and evening. Anton and Charmaine were the kindest hosts and we loved the shared dinners. Beautifully maintained garden and pool.

The moment we arrived at Foxy Crocodile - we were greeted with this amazing big smile, from owner Riëtte. That was it for both us - a big welcoming smile and we automatically felt at home. Riëtte’s husband Basil was always around if we needed any advice or help and was very welcoming and chilled out. Which is what we really wanted - chilled and happy hosts.
Glen was our Kruger National Park guide, from Foxy Crocodile - now this guy is something else. Very very knowledgeable and took us to parts of the park, where there were no other guides. And yes - we managed to spot all of the Big Five in one day. You couldn’t make it up - so a big 10/10 for Riëtte,Basil and Glen for that amazing experience. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
The staff:- Elizabeth, Patricia, Nompie, Lucky and Pendulo were all brilliant. Always around if and when you needed anything and the food they prepared was out of this world. The staff would always stop for a little chat, which was nice and they all seemed so happy.
The location is right on the KNP - so don’t be surprised when the odd Giraffe, Impala, Kudu or Warthogs casually walk by when you’re having your breakfast.
Amazing experience - which we highly recommend. For the location, the host, the KNP guide and of course the staff.

Easy entry to the marvelous Kruger national park.
Easy entry to the marvelous Kruger national park. Get there early to avoid queues especially at weekends and holidays. I wholeheartedly recommend taking a guided tour, the external guides are best, I used "My African Safari" and Dylan was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable, passionate and great fun. I would suggest a half day to begin with, after that you'll be able to self drive with a better idea of the surroundings.

The location is first class. So convenient, being right next to Crocodile bridge entrance. Saw plenty animals just sitting on the verandah of our chalet. The staff were very helpful. The unit was serviced everyday.
Very well located to the Crocodile bridge entrance of the Kruger Park, so makes it really convenient if you want to visit the Kruger National Park. Very nice that the guesthouse has a restaurant. Easy access to lovely refreshments, beverages and meals. The Guesthouse itself is excellent value for money. Very clean and comfortable.
Trees Too Guest is perfectly situated near Crocodile Bridge Gate, thus perfectly located for Kruger Safaris.
The Lodge is nice and quiet, breakfast and dinner were very good.
Sue and her team are very welcoming and you immediately feel at home. Absolutely family-friendly.

The owners are super friendly and accommodating. The location is superb if you wish to be in the kruger. It is about 10 minutes drive from the crocodile bridge gate. The house we were in was right in front of the park, and enjoyed views of the park from the Balcony. The area felt safe (although we were there for less than 24 hours)
We had a great time staying at this family-run hotel. Host Michelle is very friendly and welcoming. She moved our family to an alternative location due to an issue in the room. The room is very clean and comfortable, with delicious breakfast served. One day we had to leave early for Mozambique, Michelle packed our breakfast to go,very heartwarming.
The house is right next to Kruger National Park Crocodile Bridge gate, great location. Our alternative house is near a lot of Hippos, you can hear them all the time.
I really enjoyed my stay at SleepOver Komatipoort. Despite the detours, it was very easy to find, with plenty of signage. There was a secure parking space right next to the unit. It is in a very convenient location, just a 5 minute drive to shops and restaurants, and close to the Crocodile Bridge gate to get an early start into Kruger. The unit was comfortable, clean and well equipped. There was a good wifi connection to work. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again if passing through Komatipoort.
We did enjoy an excellent stay! The property is in excellent condition, very neat and clean. The facilities available counter load shedding as far as possible. What a blessing!
The location of the property is remarkably close to the main shopping venues. The property also provides easy access to Lebombo Border Post and the Kruger National Park (Crocodile Bridge gate).
Excellent value for money!!
We stayed for 4 nights and DID NOT want to leave! The stay was superb. The location is excellent, a minute's drive from Crocodile Bridge and allows you to jump straight into Kruger Park. When not in the park, the location on the river allows you to spend many hours blissfully watching the animals right from your room or from the porch. Every evening there's a delicious south african dinner where everybody can sit together and share stories (:
