Loved everything about this hotel, it was simply breathtaking. The facilities are excellent as is the food and service. We did the sunrise outrigger activity and it was a highlight of our trip.

Beach: The beach was great. Plenty of seating, very easy to rent equipment to go do several things. The 1 hour free snorkeling includes each day was a great hit for us. Swam with several turtles. The reef isn't necessarily the most colorfull and lively we've ever seen, but definitely still very beautiful to look at.
We're a bit adventurous, so we wanted to rent paddle bords, kayaks and surf boards to go out off the cove with, but that wasn't allowed without a guide. They could be utilised inside the cove.
Room: The room was very nice. Bathroom was great and there was a lot of closet space. The TV was an older model, so it wasn't possible to stream anything or cast to it, which didn't bother us, but definitely is notable if that is a requirement.
Food: We mainly ate at the breakfast buffet, which was quite varied. Enjoyed the fact that you could get freshly made omelets by a chef every morning.
Ate dinner at Browns looking at the sunset. The food was great and can definitely recommend that. The purple Ube bread, that they served was a highligt and the service was super good

Staying at Mango sunset is the absolute amazing highlight of our trip in big island. 5 star experience!
Location: it’s 10 minutes drive from airport. There is a short drive way from highway to the Airbnb, we don’t have cars, but all uber drivers have no problem driving uphill.
View and environment: the house is located near a coffee farm and on the top of a small hill, so you will have an absolute fantastic view of sunset. It is surrounded by coffee trees and fruit trees and you can find chickens running around. You are living in the original natural kingdom, very different from staying at a standard hotel. Their cat Melisa is also cute!
Condition: the room is nice and clean, you can find everything like microwave, fridge etc. you need. It’s also safe and quiet, especially in the night. They use Starlink for internet, so even if the location is away from busy area, you have stable and free minternet which is important for me.
Host: the best part of mango sunset is the host couple: Heidi and Dan. They are kind, professional, funny and welcoming. You can see from the small ukulele on the wall to a flower on the table that they both love life and want the guests to feel like home. Heidi every morning will make guests her homemade breakfast. All the foods are grown from their farm. You can’t find any similar amazing food anywhere else. In one early morning we have tour needs to leave early, Heidi even wakes up at 6am and made a ham&cheese sandwich for us to take! Dan is responsible for maintain everything neat and smooth. The water pressure has some issue and he fixed it immediately! I can’t say any better words for the host. They are absolutely extraordinary!
Overall, the mango sunset makes our trip unforgettable experience! Highly recommend! I will definitely return if I get any chance to visit big island again!
