Fairmont Orchid, hotel in Waikoloa

Situated amongst 32 oceanfront acres on the Kohala Coast, the Fairmont Orchid is a spectacular resort offering luxurious accommodation and extensive resort facilities to the discerning traveler.

Beach: The beach was great. Plenty of seating, very easy to rent equipment to go do several things. The 1 hour free snorkeling includes each day was a great hit for us. Swam with several turtles. The reef isn't necessarily the most colorfull and lively we've ever seen, but definitely still very beautiful to look at. We're a bit adventurous, so we wanted to rent paddle bords, kayaks and surf boards to go out off the cove with, but that wasn't allowed without a guide. They could be utilised inside the cove. Room: The room was very nice. Bathroom was great and there was a lot of closet space. The TV was an older model, so it wasn't possible to stream anything or cast to it, which didn't bother us, but definitely is notable if that is a requirement. Food: We mainly ate at the breakfast buffet, which was quite varied. Enjoyed the fact that you could get freshly made omelets by a chef every morning. Ate dinner at Browns looking at the sunset. The food was great and can definitely recommend that. The purple Ube bread, that they served was a highligt and the service was super good

    I highly recommend staying here.

I highly recommend staying here. The condo we stayed in was very clean, quiet and had a beautiful view off the lanai where we enjoyed our coffee each morning. The beds were so comfortable. It had everything we needed in the kitchen if we chose to make a meal. The pool and pool area was clean, quiet with beautiful view of the ocean. There are shops and restaurants nearby making it so convenient. David our Concierge was helpful in getting reservations for a dinner cruise which I also recommend. Overall stay was great. I will definitely stay again.

    Can’t fault appartement.

Can’t fault appartement. Nicely decorated with everything you might need. Great firm big beds. Access to plenty of (beach) towels and linens. Shops close by. Waiokoloa village is a bit set back from beach (it’s not Waiokoloa beach resort) which we actually quite enjoyed. Ample of parking. Recommend visiting Volcano park, Beach 69, Queens shops at Waikoloa beach resort with great Food market. Night time Manta Ray snorkel not to be missed.

Area offers many things to do or not!

Area offers many things to do or not! You could just spend your day by the pool or beach and enjoy the most beautiful surrounds. Plenty of places to eat( Lava Lava Club, The Marriott hotel, Whaler Village) or to buy groceries to self cater. You can walk to everything, but if you feel the need to drive there are plenty of parking spots available in shopping centres or dining venues. Our second visit back to this area and did not disappoint.

It is very windy and 3 days of our stay the resort area was uninhabitable. We either needed to stay inside-not why we came to Hawaii or go to Kona. There are no real beaches in the area we spent alot of time driving back and forth to Kona.

3 Bedroom condo was very nice.

3 Bedroom condo was very nice. Comfortable beds and kitchen fully stocked. location great. Nice lunch (and breakfast) spot nearby at Johny's restaurant at Golf Pro Shop. Wish we could have golfed. Excellent pool and workout area per my friends. Tennis courts strange matt surface. Hard to see #s on other condos at night to find location of our friends who were also staying there. But overall, a great facility and will be back!

Waikoloa is a great affordable luxury resort development.

Waikoloa is a great affordable luxury resort development. It is the kind of place where you can take walks and enjoy the beautiful landscaping or for dining and shopping. Many excellent tour companies (Kailani Tours) do pick-ups here and Waikoloa is well situated for exploring all parts of the island.
