The best way to watch the sunset in Key West is either to go out on an organised catamaran trip, OR go towards Mallory Square but instead of heading to the very front where the restaurant is and standing with everyone, go to the docks where there are a number of benches facing the sunset. These are often empty (Surprisingly) and there isn't the noise from a "Cat performer" that there is in mallory square. That being said, on another evening go watch the performance, it is very entertaining :D
You have to visit Mallory square for the sunset, watch the street performers eat street food and sip cocktails with thousands of like minded people
