We spent just one night here, but I wish it was more! This hotel was beautiful and had a heap of history. Despite its age, it was wonderfully refurbed and so well appointed. The room was huge, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was stunning. The shower was huge and glorious. I loved the location as well, it was easy to walk to some major monuments and museums. It was the perfect spot for our quick trip. We tried to have breakfast, but hadn't thought about the fact it was a Saturday during the Christmas holidays, so it was really busy and we didn't have time. So if you're there on a weekend, go to breakfast early! I can also highly recommend The Hamilton restaurant that was nearby. ALSO, if you want to do the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, be sure to 'book' your tickets well in advanced. While they are free, their popularity is off the chart so they ticket it.

DO NOT buy food or beverages from the unlicensed vendors. I watch one filling water bottles from the melted ice of his cooler. Their activity is illegal. There are buildings nearby that have licenses to sell have standard health regulations related to storage and preperation.

The memorial is so nice.
The memorial is so nice. Go inside and read about the history and quotes of Lincoln. Definitely added to the experience and I was able to appreciate different aspects of the memorial more. Definitely very crowded, but that is expected. A must see!

we hired bikes from union station and did our own self...
we hired bikes from union station and did our own self guided bike tour of the mall starting from Capitol hill right the way to lincoln memorial stopping enroute for photos and picnic. we then biked round the tidal basin to jefferson memorial and out to georgetown. great way to get around and see all the sights. only thing we wished we had done was see the memorials at night. next time!!
The location is great, few steps to white house. You can walk to the capitol, washington monument and lincoln memorial.
The roof top bar has the best view of the Washington monument and the White House.
The location is perfect, you can walk to Lincoln Memorial Hall in 15 mins. Also, there are 32 and 36 buses in front of the hotel. It's so convenience that CVS is next to the hotel.
Great location, comfortable beds, nice and clean hotel, kind and helpful staff. We walked everywhere, from the Lincoln Memorial to The Capitol, and all of the museums in between!
The hotel is perfectly located for a 2-days stay. It is possible to reach within 10 minutes walk either the White House or the Lincoln Memorial.
The possibility for breakfast is nice, and the Waffles just great! In the evening the pizzas are really nice too, but there is nothing else than pizza (maybe the only less positive thing). Overall a nice experience at the Hive!
Excellent location. We walked to the Smithsonian, Lincoln Memorial. Took an Uber to Georgetown, then walked most of the way back. Excellent location. The beds were very comfortable too.
Hotel was in an excellent location, you could stroll to the Lincoln memorial in 20 minutes and had ample coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The bed and room were also super comfortable.
Lovely hotel just a short walk from the Wharf and about 30 minutes walk from the Lincoln Memorial etc. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Rooms are comfortable and had a good view over the river.

Very spacious comfortable room and the kitchen was very handy to have. The hotel is in a quiet location about a 10 minute walk to the Lincoln Memorial/National Mall area. If you don't want to walk there is the Metro and buses close by or an Uber/Lyft is around $10.
