The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere and all the hotel staff were friendly and attentive. Our room on the 11th floor was nice with a great bathroom. Liked the choice of the restaurant or bar for breakfast and the cocktails in the evening were appreciated. The complimentary wine between 5 and 6 in the evening was a nice thought in the East Room. The location downtown on the edge of chinatown suited us. The hotel was very well run and seemed genuinely interested in us and made us very welcome.

Brooklyn Bridge
Once the world’s largest suspension bridge, Brooklyn Bridge is 5,989 feet, or just over a mile, long. Throw on a jumper and head across this windy stretch for some amazing skyline views – particularly on the way from Brooklyn to Manhattan. Time your stroll for sunset to watch the city lights twinkle into life against the pink and orange sky.

Have a great lunch at a great restaurant located under the bridge, I believe the name is something like Little River Cafe. You can take the ferry from Manhattan and get off on the other side of the river, the restaurant is next to the ferry landing station. Expensive but great place for scargots if you like french cuisine.

We took the subway across & walked across the bridge towards Manhattan as this gave us the best views. Loads of souvenir sellers. Mind you keep to the correct side of the walkway or you can clearned up by the cyclists if not.

Recommendation: cross the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhatttan to Brooklyn and turn left for Dumbo, to get exceptional views from the Manhattan bridge. Turn right to enjoy the skyline.
On the way back, use the Manhattan bridge to cross from Brooklyn to Manhattan to enjoy even better views from the NY skyline, and you'll land right in Chinatown! :)

Great hotel in New York in a good location next to the subway and round the corner from Brooklyn Bridge. The bar was great and so were the rooms. We really enjoyed our stay.
Subway is nearby as well as Brooklyn bridge, 9/11 monument and other attractions. Some nice restaurants nearby. The hotel bar is nice and cozy. Rooms are clean.
The staff were great, super helpful and nice! The beds were comfy and the bathroom was large and nice. The hotel was not far away from the metro/train so the location was overall very good. It was also a short walk from the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge which was nice.
The location of the hotel and the view from the room were perfect. I had researched many hotels in terms of view. I think, It is one of the best in the NYC. I was able to watch the entire Lower Manhattan view from the room, including even the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. There was no need to go anywhere else to watch the view.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, and hotel is really clean. Location of the hotel is amazing, right outside 23 St station which takes you to Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, Central Park, World Trade Centre, High St Brooklyn for the Brooklyn Bridge etc. so you can get pretty much anywhere from here, including JFK Airport (E line to Jamaica for the AirTrain to JFK). The bathroom in the room is really lovely, great shower!
The breakfast included are one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. It’s not just standard buffet but an a la carte menu with excellent choices. The location is just 4 mins away from the main subways that go to both midtown and Brooklyn. It’s within walking distance to a lot of tourist attractions such as One World Trade Center, Brooklyn bridge walking track, Chinatown, ferry to Statue of Liberty. We had a really good time staying here.
Overall it was a good experience, nice apartments, comfy beds, good common space with games and laundry room, great location close to main attractions as 9/11, One Trade Center, Wall Street, Brooklyn Bridge.. Also a small but good restaurant with plenty of healthy food options just next door to the hotel lobby was a PLUS.

One of the best walks is to do the High line which starts at The Standard Hotel. The Downtown bus tour is also excellent and you can hop on and off at your leisure to see many of the best spots. Would definitely recommend hiring bikes and cruising round Central Park. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge just to turn round and walk back to catch great views of the NY skyline.
