The experience begins when you hit the entrance!
The entrance to the club is very unassuming and gives it a speak easy feel. You enter through the ground floor door and are greeted by friendly front desk staff. The gym is located on this level and is incredible. It is fully equipped with free weights, cardio equipment, lap pool and hot/cold plunges. The locker rooms are spotless and well stocked with amenities.
The hotel is located a quick trip up the elevator to the 2nd floor. The concierge desk is located just off the elevator and staffed with the most accommodating personnel I have ever encountered in all of my travels. Israel checked us in on our first night and gave us a quick tour of the property as well as escorted us to our room. He was extremely gracious and knowledgeable and set the tone for our entire stay. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there are only 14 guest rooms at the property. This made for a very quiet and peaceful stay. There is not one thing about this hotel that makes you feel like you are staying at a chain hotel and that is what I loved most about it.
Our room was huge by city standards and was clean, modern, and well stocked with amenities. The massive window let in beautiful natural light during the day and great views of the nearby building lights at night. The bathroom was beautiful but I would add a word of caution here. The bedroom has a direct line of view into the shower area of the bathroom. This is probably a great feature for couples but it took some getting used to as I was traveling with my adult daughter. We were able to work out a shower schedule for privacy and we were good to go. There was some construction going on in an adjacent property that was a bit noisy in the mornings but this is expected when you stay in a city and is no fault of the hotel.
The dining and lounge are beautiful and have an old school feel to them, and the lounge terrace offers great views of the city skyline at night.

The location of the hotel suited my needs well. An easy walk from the train station; an easy walk to the Barnes Foundation collection.

Barnes Foundation - allow enough time and energy for the Barnes (here are 23 (?) galleries). I was able to get tickets on a weekday without a reservation, but a friend found that tickets were not available on a Saturday afternoon. Do use either the docent tours (extra cost) or the free audio tours. The signage for the audio tour is poor - some signs are missing altogether, and most are small and not easily noticed given the crowding and the small size of the signs. There are booklets in each gallery that show the layout of each wall in the gallery - they should highlight the audio tours but do not.
