Location is brilliant for being able to see alot of the historical part of Philidelphia, the building was beautiful and I loved the fact that check in included a brief history of the hotel, staff were very friendly and always said hi or morning. I loved the afternoon cookies and coffee / tea they offered, I've never known any other hotel/b&b do that. The room was a very good size and the bed was very comfortable. Our first day at the botel they gave us a map with suggested places to visit, which was also an enjoyable moment. Would highly recommend staying at Morris House Hotel!

The is a lovely hotel right in the heart of the old town. Recently refurbished to a high standard, everything was clean and operational. Good bed linen which led to a good night sleep. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Free parking was provided (unusual in a US city) and a later check out was no problem for them.

I was able to get tickets on a weekday without a reservation, but a friend found that tickets were not available on a Saturday afternoon. Do use either the docent tours (extra cost) or the free audio tours. The signage for the audio tour is poor - some signs are missing altogether, and most are small and not easily noticed given the crowding and the small size of the signs. There are booklets in each gallery that show the layout of each wall in the gallery - they should highlight the audio tours but do not.
