This is a really pretty, independently run hotel. I didn't try the restaurant on site but it looks very cute. Parking is right next door and reasonably priced for in the city. Bed as comfortable.

FAQs about hotels in Philadelphia

Friendly City of the Founding Fathers

The birthplace of American independence, Philadelphia was founded in 1682 by William Penn. The name of the city translates to City of Brotherly Love and the city itself is a vibrant mix of history, art and culture.

Philly is famed for its public art with more sculptures and murals than any other city in the USA. Seeing the best graffiti and statues won’t break the bank balance, since you can find many free tours and admire them absolutely free of charge!

It’s also home to many national historical sites with the Independence National Historical Park as a starting point and center for all the major landmarks, including Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Liberty Bell is located, the symbol of the American Revolution.

Visit the world’s largest urban landscaped park, Fairmount Park, with over 17 square miles of green area. There are plenty of paths and hiking trails and after that, enjoy a local cheesesteak sandwich, soft pretzel or some Tastykake snacks.

Arriving at Philadelphia International Airport, you’re just a 20-minute ride from downtown. Booking.com has a variety of hotels in downtown Philly, near the airport or for the sports enthusiasts, near the Wells Fargo Center.

This trip we visited the Portal at Love Park, art museum and just admired the architecture and night skyline around the city. Boat house row and Kelly drive is relaxing. Went to the best 5 cheesesteak spots around the city: Angelos, Dalesandro's, Berardis, Jims, and Johns roast pork. A different spot that you must go to for dessert is Johns water ice.

This is a great city, especially for cultural events.

This is a great city, especially for cultural events. I happened to go on a weekend when the Eagles were playing football, so I can assure the reader that this is also a town that is wild about its sports teams! I often go to less-visited places in the city, so I can highly recommend the Rosenbach Museum and Library near Rittenhouse Square for the literary and historical treasures to be found there (original manuscript of James Joyce's Ulysses, first Bible printed in what is now the U.S., Bram Stoker's original notes for Dracula, and the entire library of the major modern U.S. poet Marianne Moore), Those with an interest in medicine and medical oddities should definitely include the nearby Mutter Museum. I also recommend the amazing Victor Cafe in the old Italian Market area for those who like opera, including amazing young singers who also happen to be the ones to serve you dinner! And there is so much more . . .

Philly is very nice. The weather was great and we walk a lot in the different neighbored. History and museum are at the top of the list. We visit some art gallery in the old city and this is what I like to do each time. A lot of choice for nice restaurant and of course a visit to the Reading market is a must.

This was not a hotel, it was an Airbnb, with only access via an email right before I had to be there with a way To get in with the code. There was no parking beyond two hours, if you could find one. It was nowhere near the museum. This cannot be named as a hotel, no facilities, no parking, nowhere near the facility where you it was.

My first trip to the historic district of Philadelphia was...

My first trip to the historic district of Philadelphia was in 2005. I was booked into this same hotel, which at the time was The Comfort Inn. Shortly after that it went into the Holiday Inn System. At that time the hotel had a shuttle which was extremely nice and convenient. When Covid hit the country the hotel discontinued the shuttle. I have really missed it. I have loved the Historic District ever since and have been numerous times. Independence Hall is a must. I love the Delaware River and the view from the hotel. I've loved the Chart House.Race Street Cafe is nice and a sandwich shop across Columbus BLVD. The Continental was a nice place but is closed now. I love Franklin Court and the vistor center and the new liberty bell hall. This last trip we visited the Revolutionary park and tomb of the unknown. the first time I knew it was there . It was a very beautiful area. We also visited China Town. And Terminal Market, which is outstanding. I have been to the Philadelphia Flower Show at least 3 different years and it is spectacular.
