The hotel is small and cozy, near the city center yet so idillic and quiet. I finally had really quality, long sleep. Breakfast is simple but enhanced by the hearty and always proactive staff. The hotel has its own small garden where they grow herbs. The room was spacious with a big bathroom. The staff was fantastic, super friendly and always there for you.

Fantastic room and facilities in the room. Superb view with balcony. Lovely view/walks around the hotel. Great entertainment in the evenings. Overall excellent!
A feast for the senses, this tropical haven sits perched above Funchal Bay. Ponds are overlooked by hanging plants and terraces, as the rush of fountains and waterfalls whispers amongst the tranquility. A tribute to Portuguese history, the gardens also have an Oriental twist with Japanese and Chinese-style statues and a collection of Koi fish.

It is must when you are in Funchal.
It is must when you are in Funchal. From city center you can go with local bus (1 euro and it is short drive of cca 20 min, or with very expensive cable car-worth just one way if it is a sunny and clear day). You will spent easily three hours there. Take a good camera.

Just wow!
Just wow! This is one of the best places I saw in Funchal, my tip is: take your time to visit it! I would say one needs at least two hours to see all the beauties of this Garden and I'm being conservative!
